Mar 07, 2025 · Jenny GarciaI took my first lesson at Sick Step academy and as someone who aspires to be a practitioner at the highest level I must say Mr. Donnie 'Crumbs' Counts is a wizard at teaching. We worked on a lot of foundational principles in my free lesson which, if practiced consistently over a few weeks can really elevate your breaking. It's not about the flashy moves so much as it is being able to flow and transition with style and this was emphasized, non-verbally, in the lesson. I give the lesson 5/5 and I can't wait to see the outcome of the rest of his students in the future. Thank you, Mr. Crumbs
Jan 21, 2025 · Sean PattersonFun and challenging!I’ve been attending Sick Step Academy for a year and a half now.I find the classes very good with the schedule, pacing, content, and overall structure. There’s a mix of learning fundamental moves, advanced moves, choreography, concepts, different styles, core strength and conditioning, and developing our own moves. It’s really cool stuff!Initially I was scared of trying out the class because I didn’t think anybody could actually teach breaking, or that I could even learn, but this class with Crumbs has proven to me how easy it is! I’m happy I tried it and I recommend you try it too!
Apr 26, 2023 · Nouchee XiongI attended an event that Donnie hosted at Sick Step Academy and our family really enjoyed ourselves. It was exciting seeing so many talented dancers and I couldn’t keep my kids off the dance floor lol! My sons were definitely ready to sign up after that. It’s great to see what Donnie is doing in the community teaching his passion to adults and kids. You can tell he cares about his work and it shows through his students and performances. I would highly recommend attending classes at Sick Step Academy!
Apr 26, 2023 · Latrell JeonHands down the best place to train and the source of Hip Hop and Breaking. The owner and instructor is a living legend in the Hip Hop Culture who has basically starred in every single hit dance movie and music videos you can ever think about growing up - You Got Served, Step Up, Missy Elliot, Christina Aguilera… it’s ridiculous that the living legend is here locally in Atlanta and is also a dancer who can teach. The academy is very professional, and B-boy Crumbs has had so much experience in the dance culture, in the entertainment industry and has so much experience teaching and competing worldwide. Most artists like this have a hard time teaching their art form and communicating details, technique and concepts well. Sick Step Academy’s owner is not only a highly skilled expert but is able to breakdown technique very well, which is rare. His classes are fun, interactive, flexible and challenging for all levels. I love this spot! B-boy Crumbs is legendary in the Hip Hop culture, relevant and active in today’s culture (still battling in competitions worldwide) and genuinely the best.
