Sanctuary of Pole Reviews

May 19, 2025 · Caroline AltizerTook my first class and honestly I was so nervous. I’m plus size, out of shape but I wanted to try something new. She made me feel so welcomed! I felt zero judgement and I think I’ll be coming back. Here’s to a new adventure!!! Thanks for the positive experience!
May 13, 2025 · Deidre IveyAs the final weeks of my time living in Greenville tick away, I am starting to feel a new nostalgia forming for this Sanctuary. 🥹 I'm going to miss the small space with big voices cheering me on through tricks. 🫶🏼The only regret I'll leave with is not coming to this studio for tricks classes sooner. 🤦🏼♀️ I had started here practicing on fly pole when my skin was still super sensitive and I was mostly taking dance classes exclusively in my training. And when I had finally felt the nerve to face my fears of the desensitizing process of tackling tricks again, I totally forgot I had wanted to try out a tricks class with Kilo. 🫣 I blame it on my mom brain and a couple other things that distracted me.Anyways, I swear the moment I realized I was doing tricks again and remembered how many are on the schedule here, I instantly switched my scheduling habit and have not looked back! 😜 I feel so much stronger and emotionally supported in Kilo's classes than pretty much any other classes I've ever taken and I think it has so much to do with the small class environment.Sometimes when dancing, I like to vibe out with a tribe of dancers and melt into the mix. But with tricks, they feel inherently better with an audience to be like "Ta-da!" at the end! 🙌🏼 And that's exactly what happens every time I show up for class at Sanctuary. And even though I go rogue sometimes when I get excited about a certain trick and run it a bunch of times solo, I feel like I can focus my energy on other polers to hype up when taking breaks and not feel fuzzy from the frenzy of a crowded class. So why am I sharing this? Because so many fellow pole dancers have DMed me or told me in person similar situations to my own, whether it be the social anxiety, fear of being ostracized, or standoffish of stage poles. 😅 I had no idea if taking tricks here would be my thing 6 months ago, but I braved up and bought a credit and broke from my "norm" to see what was on the other side of my fears. And just like time and time again of me stepping out of my comfort zone, I grew from it. ✨ I'm doing harder and cooler tricks than I even did in the prime of poling in my 20s and feel encouraged to step into my next new level from Kilo so wanted to take the time to shout her out and nudge those of you who have been secretly saying to yourself "one day I'm going to go there." 😘Just do the damn thing already and stop letting your fear force you into complacently. You'll grow, I promise. 💪🏼💪🏼
Jun 19, 2025 · Lisa HHad soooo much fun with my girls! Kilo Kitty was an awesome teacher and she made sure you knew the routine every step of the way. She was very patient with my group of 7. Her playlist was LIT and everyone loved the class. We laughed, danced and really enjoyed ourselves. We will be booking again soon!
Jan 22, 2024 · Tay HannonLet me just say I’ve been with Sanctuary of Pole since the opening of the doors. The experience you get from the teacher, the other students, the community and the many different options of apparatuses has helped me soar through my pole journey. The small, intimate class sizes give me the one on one time with the instructor that most big studios just can’t handle. SOP has a specific curriculum to get you from Pole 1 all the way to Pole 4, breaking it all down to make sure you are comfortable going forward with every move taught. There are always conditioning exercises given to do at home (with or without a pole) to keep your conditioning going even while not at the studio. If you don’t have a home pole, you will still get the best training ideas from Kilo. SOP offers many different training methods and techniques as well as different apparatuses like the Fly Pole, the Lyra Pole, Chrome, Powder Coated and Stainless Steel Pole, and more goodies to be added soon! Each apparatus gives you a different way to train, which helps you train on the pole easier. The Fly Pole has become a special love for me as it has given my training a huge boost as the pole is made for grip so you can concentrate on your breathing, where your body is, what your body’s going to do next, and allows you to focus on the move at hand. Kilo is also an excellent instructor that hones in on what needs to be taught for you to get that one move! She’s always watching and spotting and will make sure you feel safe as well as making sure you know the mechanics of what your body should be doing, what parts of the body should be contacting the pole, helps you understand the mechanics of the move, then walks you through it by hands on teaching and demonstrating. The community I have been introduced into is so inclusive and special! The support is astounding and the friends are for life! I’ve been with Kilo for 2 years and I think she’s one of the best instructors around the Greenville and Spartanburg areas of SC. She cares about you as a person, not just a person bringing money through the door. So if you haven’t tried a class, sign up for your Intro Class now! What are you waiting for?
