- Competitive Dance Training (Potentially): One review suggests a focus on "competing against each other and trying to be better then everyone else," which could imply a competitive dance track or a strong emphasis on individual performance excellence within the studio's culture.

Norma's Academy of Dance Reviews
My daughter went there for 6 years. We would have stayed longer, but the studio wasn’t for us. All that the studio was about was competing against each other and trying to be better then everyone else. Norma's also had other problems: favoritism. Favoritism there was obviously a lot of favoritism. She would be the lead of every dance, in the front, giving steps to challenge her. It was just crazy. The thing that got my whole family ready for me to leave was The evaluation. In there evaluation they give The favorite all good things like "You are an amazing dancer" (even though she would mess up A LOT and if my daughter messed up like that she would've taken out that part! But of course she wasn't.) My child was not treated as welland things just didn't go so well. The recital before we left, they wouldnt let the leaving people backstage, even though they needed help backstage. It was just horrible. Anywho Norma's taught some kids the correct foundation to dance, that is the only reason why it was those stars. If you are Deciding to go to Norma's all I have to say is Good Luck.
Jun 11, 2025 · Maya HunteThe staff esp the front desk attendant is very rude. Most of the “main dancers” are related or friends of someone.
Jan 31, 2025 · Makiah ShellMy daughter has been attending this academy for almost a year and she has thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff members are helpful and informative. They maintain a safe and clean environment. They offer a vast array of classes based on skill level and interest. I highly recommend.
Dec 07, 2024 · Joanna ZacheryMy daughter just started taking classes at Norma's so I don't have a lot to share about my experience yet. However, the in-take process and orientation went really smoothly. They were very responsive to my earlier inquiries and are very professional. When visiting the dance studio, I immediately felt comfortable with the staff and leaving my daughter there to hone her craft. It's early in our process, but I'm very excited about my daughter being a part of this great group of women.
