New Hope Dance & Drama at New Hope Performing Arts Center Reviews
The New Hope Dance & Drama program is amazing. The dance teachers are stars in their own right, many of which have their own professional careers in dance. The girls have had opportunities to read about their teachers and even see some of them perform. Not only is the dance program technically proficient but Ms. Concha has built a true team experience. The program looks for ways to give back to the community and the Director is a stalwart role model. The girls vary in age from elementary to high school and the girls are very kind to one another. As a mother of one of the younger girls, I marvel at the consistent kindness that the older girls give, even on long competition weekends. I appreciate the dance experience but I value the team even more.
Jul 08, 2016 · Lane BurrittMy daughter has been doing dance since she was in the Pre-K program at New Hope Academy. She started off doing ballet and progressed to the Intro to Dance Company Program. The Intro to Dance Company program is three styles of dance, namely ballet, hip hop/jazz and contemporary. She was in class with girls of her age. This program gave her a good understanding of what it would be like to be in the Dance Company and I would recommend doing this for all girls who are thinking of auditioning for the company. This program showed her the level of work and commitment that she would need to have in order to become a full time member of the company. She knew that it would be more work and taking part in competitions and learning a lot more than she had previously learned. The Dance Company is a close knit family and everyone is supportive of each other. The instructors are excellent and customize routines that are appropriate for the various age groups. There are also guest instructors who come in, so the girls at all levels, get exposure to lots of talented individuals.Ms Concha is great and she makes sure that the girls have a well rounded experience. She emphasizes discipline and commitment at all levels. She nurtures all the girls and encourages them to perform at their full potential.I would recommend this program to any parent. Your child will be supported and nurtured in a safe and welcoming environment.
Jul 25, 2016 · Tricia Saladeen SteeleMy daughter (age 9) has been dancing with NHD&D since she was 3. My son danced from age 5 to 8. Both have done drama each year. I appreciate how the director, Concha, sets the tone of the classes. The children are given top notch instruction and are encouraged to let their gift of movement flow. Concha is committed to bringing dances from the heart into the world so that we may connect through the art of movement. I appreciate how skillfully and lovingly she handles any conflicts or misunderstandings that come up between the students. My children have grown in grace and spirit dancing with NHD&D.
