---Mission Cheer Academy (MCA) offers a specialized range of services primarily focused on cheerleading and tumbling, catering to various ages and skill levels. Their programs are designed to develop athletes comprehensively, from fundamental skills to advanced competitive routines.
All-Star Cheerleading Programs: A core offering of MCA is its all-star cheerleading program. This involves competitive cheer teams that participate in routines featuring stunts, tumbling, jumps, dance, and cheers. Families often highlight the positive transition to MCA's all-star teams, noting the supportive atmosphere and knowledgeable coaching. These programs are structured for different age divisions and skill levels, ranging from beginner to advanced.
Recreational Tumbling Classes: For individuals looking to develop tumbling skills without the commitment of an all-star team, MCA provides recreational tumbling classes. These classes are designed to build foundational tumbling skills, such as rolls, cartwheels, and round-offs, progressing to more advanced maneuvers like handsprings and tucks. As one review highlights, these classes are particularly inclusive, successfully helping a grandchild with special needs "thrive," demonstrating that "there is a place for everyone & nobody is left behind."
Tumbling Instruction for All Skill Levels: MCA's tumbling program emphasizes working at an athlete's "own pace and individual skill level." Their safety-certified instructors use drills and spotted skills to help athletes achieve personal goals. This structured yet individualized approach is crucial for safe and effective skill progression in tumbling.
Flight Training: This is a specialized program designed to develop and enhance the skills of flyers in all forms of cheerleading. Flight training focuses on the techniques and strength required to execute flawless stunts and body positions while airborne, essential for competitive cheerleading.
Private Lessons: While not explicitly detailed in the provided information, many cheer and tumbling gyms offer private lessons for personalized instruction. Given the focus on individual skill progression and coach attentiveness mentioned in reviews, it is highly likely that MCA offers or can arrange one-on-one coaching for specific skill development.
Skill Development & Progression: Across all programs, MCA focuses on helping children build skills from their current level. Coaches "know and understand that every child has their own skill level and can build from there," promoting continuous improvement and celebrating each step of progress.
Mission Cheer Academy (MCA) distinguishes itself within the Wilkes-Barre, PA, athletic community through several key features and highlights that contribute to its strong reputation and positive impact on its athletes.

Mission Cheer Academy Reviews
My daughter joined Mission Cheer last year after having left her previous all star gym and this move was the best thing we have done for our girl. She loves all of her teammates and her coaches her and they are all so attentive, professional, knowledgeable and have a genuine love for each child that comes through the doors. Mission Cheer is truly our second family. My granddaughter is special needs and has been enrolled in their Rec tumbling classes for a little more than a year now and she has THRIVED!!!There is a place for everyone & nobody is left behind.
Dec 09, 2024 · Audra DiamenteCoach Heather is great! She’s very patient working with my youngest daughter who just recently got into gymnastics. All of the coaches at MCA know and understand that every child has their own skill level and can build from there. I love the encouragement they always give, too!
Sep 29, 2022 · Kaitlin CrandallWhen I brought my five year old into this gym for the first time she was timid, shy and had no confidence in her ability. Within a month she was throwing tumbling skills perfectly that she had no clue how to do prior! She has the drive and confidence to work on them at home, and is still excited every time we leave for the gym. The staff feels like friends we have known forever, and they truly want every child to succeed. The gym has gone above and beyond to make every child feel welcome, wanted and like they belong. I cannot say enough good things, I highly recommend this gym! They are affordable, friendly, safe, welcoming and accommodating.
Oct 13, 2020 · Shannon KernMy daughter and I absolutely love the coaches and atmosphere of MCA!! They are so understanding, attentive, and parent inclusive! This is my daughters first season of All-Star Cheerleading and the amount of skills these coaches have been able to teach her is incredible, but the confidence they’ve given her is priceless. I’d highly recommend anyone looking for a positive and inviting gym that can become family, MCA is the place!
Oct 11, 2020 · Kayla SkibinskiI remember when Roselyn started Mission Cheer Academy 3 (maybe 4 years ago) and she didn’t even have a cartwheel and within months she was doing one perfectly. Now she is doing a back handspring. Roselyn has grown over the past year to be a better flyer, base, and a better teammate. The coaches at MCA do not just teach cheer, they teach sportsmanship, and how to be a part of a team.MCA coaches are so hands on and know each child. They do not just put every girl or boy on one general level. They work with each individual child to perfect/learn for tumbling and stunting.Ohhh and I can’t forget about Roselyn’s facial expressions now. When she is out on the Mat she is not just cheering, she is performing.Thank you so much to MCA coaches for your continued efforts with my daughter and the safety first you all push within the gym. I can’t wait for many more seasons to come.
