As our wedding approached, we decided we wanted to take ballroom dance lessons to really WOW our guests for our first dance. We found Ludo’s ballroom from a simple google search, along with a few other ballroom dance studios. We took the complimentary class at each location and decided to go with Ludo’s ballroom. We chose a package of 6 private lessons. Ludo was an absolute dream to work with; he was kind, patient, and very encouraging. The first 3 lessons we learned majority of the moves we’d put into our rumba routine (we danced to an acoustic version of Capital Cities – Safe & Sound), and then used the remaining 3 lessons to perfect our moves. Ludo suggested we come to their Friday night social and perform our first dance in front of a crowd, and that was some of the best advice he could have given to us. Performing in front of a crowd for the first time was extremely nerve-racking, and we are thankful that first time was NOT in front of our friends and family. Our first dance at the reception went SO WELL, everyone was impressed and we were extremely happy with our performance! In our lessons, Ludo also taught us a few moves of the hustle, which we were also able to use on our wedding night – there was a short moment after dinner when the dance floor was empty and we were able to show off a little more of what we learned of the hustle. We cannot thank Ludo enough for helping us enter the ballroom dancing world. The space is big and the floor looks new. However the instructors are not the best. The main instructor seems to have mid level experience. Its ok to start learning ballroom.
