Lebanon Ballet School Inc Reviews
This school goes above and beyond. Initially signed daughter up about 5 years ago because it was the closest dance school for us. Not only do the dancers have amazing, kind, caring teachers but they also instill a sense pride, respect, kindness, and sense of community in their dancers. This can be seen with the older dancers especially; they are talented, mentor the younger dancers, are responsible, and take pride in craft they are learning. I have nothing but excellent things to say about this school; the dance they are teaching and the environment they have created shapes the dancers in and out of the classroom. Thank you!
Jun 03, 2022 · blueberrie4If you are looking for a place for your child (or you!) to get ballet instruction, I highly recommend LBS. My daughter began classes a few days before she turned 5 and I have watched her grow and learn and create meaningful relationships with her peers and her instructors. Linda sets the bar high, and the dancers rise to it. They learn routine and respect, flexibility and fun. When I signed my daughter up for ballet, I wasn’t sure how long she would like it. Here we are 3 years later, and she is still excited every week on her ballet days. Some unexpected benefits from our time at LBS:- language acquisition: my daughter is connecting the French words and the movements and is making connections in her daily life- community: the dancers and their families are from different towns and schools, but the family feel is real. We have made friends in the studio that we wouldn’t have known otherwise- mentorship: I delight in watching the younger dancers learn from the older ones, and the older dancers guide and support the youngers. Being backstage at LOH for the most recent production of Cinderella gave me a glimpse into the multi-aged community that Linda has built.- production experience: as young as Ballet I, dancers get to experience a production at the professional level in a real theatre. This is invaluable.Thank you, Linda and LBS. I know you have my daughter’s best interests at heart. We so appreciate it.
Jun 11, 2022 · Rebecca SextonThis the finest traditional ballet school in the Upper Valley. This is NOT a sparkly spandex, competition, dance/cheer company. If you want real dance skills and rigor for your dancer this is the place to go. The instructors are a wealth of knowledge who will provide a dancing experience filled with respect and caring. The bar is set high but oh what beauty when the kids reach for it. With a performance partnership with the City Center Ballet your dancer will be given experiences rarely found in this area.
Jun 05, 2022 · Gus DanforthMy daughter joined the Teen class at Lebanon Ballet School after being away from ballet for a few years. We chose LBS specifically for this class geared towards older, returning ballet students and first time teen ballet dancers, even though the school is an hour and a half away from where we live. It has been a wonderful experience for my daughter. She has learned so much in the last six months. This school is the real thing - real technique and real skills (with the vocabulary to go with it). My daughter has also benefited from the increased confidence that comes with approaching a difficult discipline and succeeding. The teachers are supportive and knowledgeable and encourage students to do their best. Their expectations are high, and I appreciate that. To respond to another reviewer's remark "don't dare show up late" - The teens in this class (and other classes, too, from what I can see) take dancing seriously. It is respectful to them and the instructors to show up on time and ready for class. Frowning upon habitual lateness is not a negative in my book, especially when students are learning an art that requires discipline. I would highly recommend Lebanon Ballet School to anyone who has a teen dancer, whether their student has been away from ballet for a few years or is new to it.
Mar 22, 2016 · Mindy Wren BarthExcellent school - My daughter has been with this school for 8 years. She has had exceptional performance opportunities and high quality technical training. Dancers from this school go on to very prestigious dance programs. The instruction the students receive is age appropriate, supportive, and creative.
