Lake Shore Dance - West Bend Reviews
We used to love this studio and have changed our views after this year’s session with our daughter. We were told to enter our daughter into the 4-6 year old class as she had finished the tots class on multiple occasions. And- it was age appropriate. After the third week into practice this year, everything changed. A girl who had a mental illness was in the class (totally okay in my opinion, however the studio had no extra help to monitor her…usually their policy is to have the extra hand.) While the child was acting out, and jumping around the room, the parents just sat there in the lobby and giggled about what was happening. The situation took time away from other students, and the instructor allowed her to stay in the room. Until…she found a rolling pin that they use for the nutcracker show and walks up behind my sweet little girl and starts beating her in the head with it.After class, the next day, they called me and offered to move my child to another group on a different day. I said that I didn’t think this was right for her to move and that prior to this incident they had just told me how well she was doing in the class. They wanted to move her to a younger class. And moving her was not fair given this was already the third week of this new year and routine for her. The call ended. On the next class day, one hour before class, the instructor called me and told me my daughter couldn’t come to that class and that I had to move her to a more appropriate class. The studio was very irresponsible with this situation. The studio also punished my daughter for another one hurting her. It’s completely wrong. Moving her to another class should have happened on the first or second week, not the third after a fellow student beat her up. I’m disgusted with the whole situation. I asked for a refund for the year because I am moving her to another dance studio and they refused. Mothers be warned.
