Customer Service Commitment: They commit to offering "100% professional front desk service" available during all class hours, promising to be "professional, fast and reliable in giving customer service."
However, it is crucial to address concerns raised in a detailed customer review. This review highlights significant issues that prospective families should consider:
Unauthorized Photo/Video Recording: A parent reported that a teacher, Hayley, took an unauthorized Snapchat video of their child without consent, leading to discomfort and a breach of privacy. The studio's own policies reportedly prohibit such actions without consent.
Alleged Retaliation: After the parent addressed the video issue, their child reportedly experienced being ignored by the teacher in class, which the parent perceived as "unacceptable" and retaliatory behavior for voicing a concern.
Owner's Response to Concerns: The parent claimed that the owner, Lora, dismissed their concerns, attempted to downplay the issue, and stated the studio was not informed before the review was posted, despite the parent's claim of having spoken to staff and the teacher directly. This led to a perception that the studio is "more concerned with protecting its reputation than with maintaining a safe and respectful environment for its students."
These concerns present a contrasting perspective to the studio's stated values of a "safe and respectful environment" and professional conduct, indicating that experiences may vary.

L.A. Dance (Lora's Academy of Dance,LLC) Reviews
Being part of the LA Dance family has been an incredible experience for us. My daughter started at just three years old and is now thriving on the company team, while my middle daughter enjoys her recreational classes. The studio truly feels like a family, thanks to the amazing teachers, staff, and the wonderful owner, Lora. Their dedication and support extend beyond the dance floor, making a lasting impact on our kids' lives. We feel so grateful to be part of such a special community.
Feb 09, 2025 · Candace LanierParents, Think Twice Before Enrolling Here!I initially had high hopes for this dance studio, but after my recent experience, I would never trust them with my child again.Last week, my daughter’s hip-hop teacher, Hayley, took a Snapchat video of her without my knowledge or permission and claimed she was sending it to my sister supposedly, who by the way— confirmed she never got this video before I even reached out to the studio, so who knows who it was actually sent to, which is part of the problem. My daughter felt uncomfortable about this, so I called the studio to address it. I spoke with both the front desk and Hayley directly. Hayley apologized, acknowledged that it was inappropriate, and I assumed the issue was resolved. However, when my daughter returned to class, she came home upset, saying Hayley ignored her during class and wouldn’t talk to her. A child should never be treated differently simply for telling their parent about something that made them uncomfortable. That kind of retaliation is unacceptable in any professional environment, especially one involving children. As a result, I withdrew her and left a review explaining my concerns.Instead of responding professionally, the owner, Lora, emailed me to claim I had never informed anyone at the studio before posting my review—despite the fact that I had spoken to two staff members, including the teacher involved. Rather than taking accountability, she dismissed my concerns and attempted to downplay the issue. This experience made one thing very clear: the studio is more concerned with protecting its reputation than with maintaining a safe and respectful environment for its students. If this is how they handle legitimate concerns from parents, I can only imagine how they deal with other issues behind closed doors. There are plenty of dance studios that prioritize professionalism, communication, and the well-being of their students. Unfortunately, this is not one of them. I strongly encourage other parents to consider that before enrolling their children here.Edit: Much of this was already outlined in my review, but your response itself has become the biggest issue. Your own policies explicitly prohibit uploading photos or videos without consent (see attached screenshot), yet you’re now contradicting them to justify what happened.I didn’t pay tuition for dance teachers to take unauthorized Snapchat videos of my daughter, nor for her to be treated differently after I addressed it. Even Hayley admitted it was inappropriate.Your time would be better spent taking a business class and becoming familiar with your own policies rather than arguing with parents who are simply holding you to your own standards.
Feb 08, 2025 · Sage WilliamsThe best dance studio in town by far. I couldn’t be more happy with Lora and her team. We brought our sweet and shy 4 year old daughter in 2 months ago. She has already broken out of her shell and improved her dance immensely! My wife and I are beyond happy and highly recommend LA Dance.
Oct 28, 2023 · Thomas BrendelWell, after having my daughter attend dance classes here for a full season, I now have a better grasp on what I will be looking for in a different dance studio going forward. I am beyond grateful for the enlightening and incredibly dismissive attitude from Ms. Lora after I inquired with her about questions and concerns I had about requirements one couldn’t opt out of, in the waivers for re-enrollment. After doing some further digging into the social media accounts that are public for this studio and its followers, I feel more assured than ever with my decision to have my daughter attend dance classes elsewhere. As a very hyper vigilant parent, I am more than pleased about the outcome of this situation we were placed in, it was a blessing in disguise.
Aug 21, 2023 · Amber Foley10/10 and even more if I could. My little dancer came from a studio that lacked communication & respect for her even from her own comp team. I searched for the best placement for her when I decided to pull her out and it has made my heart so happy we chose this place,. She did the four days of dance auditions and prep classes without having any regular classes and EVERYONE was so welcoming to her and I and was just amazing. From the parents we spoke with in the lobby, to the staff, all the way to the girls dancing with her. The owner as had open communication with me if I’ve had questions and really has helped me through this process with acclimating through everything and I couldn’t be more grateful to have found a dance home and a place where she can REALLY thrive.
