Isis Academy Performing Arts Reviews
Fantastic place. Wonderful instructors, staff are also dancers, so they can help you with just about anything. Belly Dance Treasures is inside and there's a lot of basic need clothing/props to purchase. Isis is also pretty great and she still teaches the beginner classes. They have traditional/ fusion belly dance, hula, and drum classes. Highly recommend her studio whether you're a beginner or a more seasoned dancer/drummer.
May 16, 2018 · NafertisitIf you want to learn hula or middle eastern dance or drumming in a safe, secure, and culturally-considerate place, Isis' studio is for you! Ive been taking class with Isis for over a year and she is the kindest, most thoughtful dance teacher I've ever known. You need to give it a try, you'll love it!!
Jul 07, 2020 · Michele HaysI have been coming here for nearly 8 years with only one temporary hiatus. I am probably the student who drives the furthest to get there come to think of it. I have a 40 mile round trip. So why do I do it? It's not just a belly dance class that's why. To call it that would be doing this studio a major injustice. It's the owners life. She has created something rather special. She has created a large thriving belly dance community with all members sharing a passion for dance in their own way but not just for dance, for the women positive atmosphere it has created, where no shame is the order of the day. Old, young, big , small , good dancers, average dancers, two left feet or professional, everyone is a celebrated. The classes are structured , self paced well executed and students are encouraged to perform. It's also extremely beginner friendly. There is ample opportunity for progression to more advanced classes when students and instructor feel they are ready and set criteria have been met. The studio is large with many members but the owner , choregrapher and instructor misses nothing and knows everyone, taking on the majority of classes herself. In addition to belly dance classes there are hula classes, tribal classes, children's classes, yoga classes and a cultural dance team. If you try it prepare to become addicted!
