Hula Hālau ‘Ohana Holo‘oko‘a Reviews
We had two dancers for my mother’s 80th Hawaiian-themed birthday. The party was not a surprise, but the dancers were to all the guests. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the various dances they performed and the beautiful costumes they donned. Professional and elegant is how I would describe them in a nutshell- highly recommend if you want to take your event to the next level!
Aug 06, 2022 · lora RatcliffI joined Hula Halau 'Ohana Holo'oko'a in October 2023 because of my love for the Hawaiian Culture and how Hula embraces that. Not only have I loved learning the dance but what has captured my heart the most is the community and how we all embrace each other. Kumu Lisa has created such a wonderful safe place to learn and be challenged.Recently I was out of class for a month. I was so happy when I was able to be back with my hula sisters. It's such a wonderful group of people that love being together and love supporting each other.
Jul 31, 2024 · Sheri DuyaoWe hired the school to do a performance at my memory care/Skilled nursing facility during our Hawaiian theme week. It was great working with Lisa to create a program and she had lots of suggestions for incorporating a seated hula lesson for our residents, interactive lessons with the instruments and other alzheimer's or low mobility options. We had pretty high expectations and they certainly far surpassed our hopes! Our staff loved the huge variety of dances and costumes! We were positively giddy seeing the kinds of reactions our residents had! It was such a meaningful way for them to reconnect old memories, feelings, emotions, honeymoons, all sorts of incredible stories were bubbling up for them! Thank you so much! It was a spectacular experience for everyone!
Aug 13, 2023 · robert borowieckiAloha! I have been attending Hula Halau 'Ohana Holo'oko'a online for 2 years! It has been so much fun getting to know my hula sisters, learning hula as well as Hawaiian culture and language via Zoom! I highly recommend this Halau for anyone who would like to learn more about Hawaiian Dance and Culture! And if you are near Beaverton Oregon, you will have so much fun attending in person! Mahalo Hula Halau 'Ohana!
Jul 31, 2024 · Laurie CookI've been dancing with the Halau for a year now. I have been loving having a sister-hood and that Ohana, where there's an abundance of aloha for all. I've been challenged, I've had fun learning new things and I know that won't be slowing down. The Kumu is patient and loving toward her students, and welcomes all with open arms.
