Houston Metropolitan Dance Center Reviews
How I love and miss this studio! Wonderful ballet classes and wonderful students. Roberta Cortes and Michelle are amazing! I took beginner ballet classes here for several years and then had to move away for a fellowship and school. This studio gave me the opportunity to preform in my first ever recital (at 30!)--I loved getting to know the other dancers and getting the chance to dress up in a tutu and having loved ones come and see the performance. Truly a cherished memory! Can't recommend this place enough.
Dec 04, 2024 · Alexandria AllesThe adult classes here are the best in the Houston area! The instructors will push and encourage you, but will also make the class an enjoyable experience. I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to dance! There’s such a wide variety of classes, so experienced or inexperienced-you’re welcome here!
Mar 16, 2025 · Jurnae JonesFrank’s jazz class is so much fun. He’s full of energy but not too hyper. The class is beginner friendly but also get you moving!
Jan 31, 2025 · Jen CHANGI’ve been doing intro to tap for 3 weeks so far and Kelsey is an amazing instructor. She very fun and patient. I have zero tap or even dance experience, so I was very anxious and nervous to try a class and she has effortlessly made myself and others feel at ease. I look forward to the rest of my tap classes with her!
Sep 28, 2024 · Tia PopeI took a Beginner/Intermediate Jazz class at the met after taking a break from dancing for a few years. Initially, it was fun and the teacher was great! As the class continued, I felt a little overwhelmed and decided to leave with about 20 minutes remaining. The instructor followed me out of the class leaving the remaining students, scolded me for leaving early, expressed that I was rude for doing so, and shut the door behind her without further discussion. The interaction was extremely unprofessional and hurtful, not only as a customer, but as a human-to-human interaction. I have danced for years, took a break, and was very excited to come back. I have also had directors who were stern, while also being amazing leaders. Due to the interaction, I do not think the Met is the proper place for me to grow into a new hobby and would not recommend the Beginner/Intermediate jazz class to anyone unless it was free.
