Fred Astaire Dance Studios Winston-Salem Reviews
Fred Astaire’s team is friendly, welcoming, and full of energy. If you’re looking for ballroom dancing, I highly recommend taking a lesson! We chose Fred Astaire to help us get more comfortable with our first dance for our wedding. Right away, Lisa was friendly, helpful, and encouraging. With lots of energy, hi-fives, and no small amount of laughs, she quickly had my now wife and me comfortable with several styles of ballroom dancing, even quickly progressing to more advanced moves. As we continued our lessons, Lisa helped us with choreography for our intro and our conclusion, getting us comfortable enough to freestyle the rest of the dance.Since we started, we’ve taken lessons with Dima, Dorina, and AJ as well, who have all proven fantastic! The community they foster and the positivity they bring to our week have made dancing with Fred Astaire something we decided to continue after our wedding!
May 31, 2025 · Matthew SzczygielWe worked with Lisa for several weeks learning the Rumba and choreographing our first dance. We had a wonderful time with the lessons and our dance turned out AMAZING! It was such a pleasure to work with her! We would highly recommend anyone who wants to learn to dance for fun or special occasion to Fred Astaire!!! Thank you so much Lisa + the Fred Astaire staff!
Jul 07, 2025 · Madison MarksMy husband and I have been going for the last few months. We are learning to dance, meeting wonderful instructors, and others also learning to dance. This time has been so fun for my husband and I, going from no dancing ability to learning social and ballroom dances. It is customized to what you want! The instructors are amazing and we are absolutely loving this dance studio.Highly recommend!
Feb 22, 2025 · Tracey WhitleyBefore going to Fred Astaire, my fiancé and I had never danced together. Neither of us are dancers, especially him. However, we wanted to know some basic moves for our wedding, and I also really wanted to learn how to be “dipped.” We were both nervous before our lesson but the nerves quickly subsided after meeting our instructor, AJ. AJ is SO personable, encouraging, and just a talented, patient instructor. He introduced steps piece by piece and we slowly started combining them until we had a beautiful sequence. Learning was so much easier because AJ not only gave us verbal directions but also did the moves with each of us so we could learn how it feels and looks when executed well. It was wildly impressive that he could so easily play the lead (/traditionally “male”) role AND the “female” role. AJ made the experience so positive and low stress that we went from being uncomfortable at the idea of dancing to it being one of the most fun experiences my fiancè and I’d ever had together. We learned so much so quickly and couldn’t have had a better experience!
Jun 20, 2025 · Jenny ReillyMy husband and I started taking classes after retiring. Neither of us knew anything about dancing and considered ourselves to have “two left feet “. Everyone here is so pleasant and helpful. We are truly grateful to Daryna and Dema for their support in our dance adventure!
