Equilibrium Creative Reviews
I've taken the 60 minute Equilibrium class several times, and I’m hooked! I would describe the class as challenging-yet-approachable, therapeutic, and invigorating. The instructor, Zoë, along with everyone I've met through Equilibrium, has been incredibly kind, welcoming, and supportive. Everyone in class comes from different backgrounds and levels of fitness, but we have found connection through the Equilibrium community. Many students have a dance background, but Equilibrium is not a dance class - anyone looking to work on full-body fitness, or better balance and posture, would benefit! It is a challenging class and I leave with jello legs sometimes, but I'm never too sore the next day - I feel balanced and more mobile, and usually just a little sore around my hips, glutes, and/or abs. I think this is because a lot of the movements target smaller muscles that often get overlooked in other fitness classes, and these little muscles help to stabilize larger muscle groups. What to expect for your first class:- usually we’re in the pinkish “Oak” room but sometimes we’re in the grey “Magnolia” room (see pics attached)- bring a yoga mat if you have one, and a water bottle- wear comfy workout clothes, and either socks or soft dance shoes (jazz shoes or ballet slippers)- most of the class is done on the ground - sitting, lunging low, or lying on your back or right/left sides - and there are some movements on your knees- the first half or so is a continuous flow of movement; there's music playing in the background and everyone just follows what the instructor is doing- you'll start with gentle movement to warm up the joints head-to-toe, then build up to more challenging moves to engage your muscles and build strength - all of the moves are repetitive so you have time to adjust your position or take a little break if needed- the second half of class may differ each week and may include guided partner stretching, standing exercises, or more experimental/educational exercises to explore movement- the class usually ends in stretching exercises to gain flexibility
Mar 06, 2025 · Shea HornI started taking ballet classes with Zoe almost a year ago as an adult beginner. I was definitely out of my comfort zone, but Zoe’s patience and attentiveness as an instructor made me have the confidence to keep coming back to class.Equilibrium has been the perfect supplement to ballet and my half marathon training. I walk out of each class feeling stronger in my full body, and notice improvements in my posture and balance. What I love most about Equilibrium is that no class is the same. Each class is creatively designed and tailored to those in the room, so they are accessible and approachable to everyone.Do yourself as favor and sign up for your first class now so that you too could experience the magic! ✨
Mar 12, 2025 · Chrystal OrozcoI have taken Equilibrium classes with Zoe for months now and I have to say it has definitely improved my form and strength for my ballet classes. Zoe focuses on parts of your muscles that aren't typically engaged and helps with stretching and strengthening those muscles. This is not your typical stretching workout class, it's stylized and designed with a dance perspective. So whether you are an experienced or non experienced dancer, Zoe always meets the students where they are, to make you feel included and to help you in your goals. It's a very friendly and supportive environment to challenge your physical abilities and make gains.
Mar 06, 2025 · Sandra LopezI love going to Equilibrium classes! Zoe is a kind and gentle instructor who leaves room for questions and dialogue. I always leave her class feeling stronger, more grounded, and with a greater ease of movement. Doing these classes regularly has helped strengthen and stretch muscles I hadn’t worked on before. Super helpful as an accompaniment to ballet classes, or a stand alone for strengthening / stretching.
Mar 06, 2025 · Alheli T.I have been taking this class in addition to my adult ballet class for several months now and it has been so great! It helps me to strengthen my muscles in different area and improves my flexibility.Zoe is an amazing instructor, so elegant and professional! She will take students' suggestions on which muscle they would like to work on and come up with different and fun exercises to help us!
