Eighty Eight Studios has a diverse selection of teachers and genres for students to develop as a professional dancer, amateur or lay person. The professionals who teach are very skilled and attentive. They make sure that the students have the best form and we drill the moves/choreography multiple times to improve our performances.It's also a fun, welcoming, judgement free zone! The owners and staff are great too and the facility has amazing spaces and energy. You can even download your dance class videos from the Google Drive to see your progression. That's awesome too! I love this studio.

UPDATE: So EightyEight Studios has received the feedback of having foundation classes for heels and now has been hosting a workshop every weekend. The workshop was very well structured and did an routine that was not hard to pick up and I say that as someone that has zero dance experience. Highly recommend this studio and can't wait to be back :)OLD REVIEW:This is not a beginner like never or barely taken dance classes friendly studio, specifically for the heels classes. I called before I attended and whoever I talked to said in these classes they teach the foundations (how to walk, spins, floor work, etc.). That did NOT happen in the classes I took. She said it would be perfectly fine for someone that has no dance experience. I took a 90 minute class and a 45 minute class. Both instructors at the beginning of class both said similar things of “I know this is a beginner class but I feel like you can do more” or “we’ve been doing it slow so let’s do it faster this time.” The entire time I was lost and could barely keep up. Clearly they did not take into account whatsoever that there would be students that haven’t taken any classes Tonight’s class I just left 45 minutes in because I didn’t have knee pads and again was not an actual beginner friendly course. Way too fast paced and a lot of floor work. Even worse I didn’t even know I needed knee pads since the lady I talked to on the phone didn’t mention it when I asked what I would need to bring. When I brought up my frustrations to the front desk girl, she said it depends entirely on the instructor how the class is taught. From what I gathered, there is no consistency in how classes are taught among instructors. I asked her if there are any foundational classes and she said they’re not on the calendar at the moment. Instead I could book a private lesson…are you for real? I shouldn’t have to book private lessons to learn the basics. That should already be offered in the class as advertised. Clearly this studio is for dancers that already have experience and want to expand upon their skills. Really disappointing since I was looking forward to coming here, but I’ll just be looking for another studio that actually follows through on what it advertises. Other than that it’s a beautiful studio and is absolutely perfect for experienced dancers. Just not for actual beginner dancers with barely any dance experience.

WOW! Literally the best dance studio in LA county! They have such a welcoming and clean space. I continuously come back to this studio to train! You absolutely have to come here!

Eighty eight has quickly become a space that simply calms my nervous system the minute I walk through their doors. Not only is it a safe space for me to train and learn without judgement but the people and community I have gained from this very special place has changed my life for the better. As a retired dancer getting back into dance and using dance as a tool for my mental and physical health I feel supported and pushed as if I was working towards booking my dream job. The teachers and community are not only pushing me to exceed in my dance goals but life outside of dance as well. Nick and Caoife have cultivated such intentional, diverse, kind, and supportive choreographers and staff. Thank you Eighty Eight! Cheers to many many many more years of success and dance!
