If you're looking to explore new ways to move your body, challenge yourself creatively, or become part of a supportive community, Cohesive Movement Center offers a specialized environment right here in your local area.

Cohesive Movement Center positions itself as South Florida's home for aerial, movement, and community. Their mission is to create a safe, empowering space for movement artists, athletes, and newcomers to train, connect, and evolve. They aim to blur the lines between art and fitness, providing tools for self-expression, strength, and personal growth. Whether you're stepping into your first aerial class or you're a seasoned aerialist looking to expand your training, they welcome all levels and strive to celebrate everyBODY. They offer flexible training options from drop-ins to courses and open practice tiers, all accessible through their Groovio app.

A satisfied customer highlights the positive aspects of the studio, stating, "This studio and coaches are amazing. Whether you are a beginner or years of experience they are great at getting everyone moving. They are here to empower all women of any age or size." This review suggests a welcoming and empowering environment, particularly for women, and an ability to cater to various experience levels.

However, it is important for prospective members to also be aware of other experiences. A highly critical review states: "Wish I could give no stars. I signed up at Cohesive Movement Center to train for competitions, but the experience was incredibly disappointing. After paying over $300 in fees, several of the amenities that were promised, such as included water and nutrition support, were quietly taken away. Once payment was made, the level of care and communication noticeably dropped. Despite having over 5 years of experience in aerial arts, I was told I wasn’t 'good enough' to use certain equipment, so they quietly took it away from me all while keeping my payments the same. Meanwhile, the instructors frequently talked up their qualifications, but after taking multiple classes, it was clear their skill level wasn’t any higher than mine, if not below. To make matters worse, I overheard the owners speaking negatively about other local studios. It came off as unprofessional and insecure, especially considering the environment they were providing. There were serious safety issues too, some poles were installed poorly, with bolts coming loose and visibly wobbly. I attached photos for reference. I also wasn’t allowed to adjust the temperature during training, which made the space uncomfortable and not conducive to focused practice. I would not recommend this facility. It’s poorly managed, doesn’t deliver on its promises, and creates an unwelcoming and unsafe atmosphere for anyone serious about their training. I have attached photos of the unsafe pole conditions and cannot say enough how much I regret giving them my money and believing their empty promises. I cannot stress how belittled they made me feel for addressing concerns." This feedback highlights significant concerns regarding safety, facility management, instructor professionalism, and customer service. Potential members should consider both perspectives before making a decision.

Cohesive Movement Center is located at 9880 Southern Blvd, Wellington, FL 33411, USA. This address places it within a well-established area of Wellington, a prominent community in Palm Beach County. Southern Boulevard (US 98/FL 80) is a major east-west artery, making the facility easily accessible by car from various parts of Wellington, Royal Palm Beach, Loxahatchee, and even western portions of West Palm Beach.

The studio benefits from its location on a main road, typically offering good visibility and straightforward navigation. For those driving, parking availability in the vicinity should be considered, as is typical for commercial spaces along such boulevards. While specific public transportation routes to this exact location might vary, the general area's infrastructure supports vehicular access. Its position in Wellington makes it a convenient option for residents across the western communities of Palm Beach County who are seeking specialized movement and aerial arts training without having to venture into the more congested urban centers.

Cohesive Movement Center offers a range of services focused on aerial arts, movement, and strength training, aiming to cater to diverse skill levels from absolute beginners to experienced practitioners. While specific class schedules and availability are managed through their Groovio app, the core offerings include:

  • Aerial Silks: Classes designed to build strength, flexibility, and creativity as students learn to climb, wrap, pose, and drop from suspended fabrics. Levels typically range from introductory (Level 1) to more advanced (Level 1.5, Level 2) with specific prerequisites for progression.

  • Lyra (Aerial Hoop): Instruction on the circular metal hoop suspended in the air. Classes are suitable for all experience levels, allowing students to learn spins, poses, inversions, and shapes while developing strength and agility.

  • Static Trapeze: Courses on using a horizontal bar suspended by ropes to pose, invert, balance, and drop. Unlike flying trapeze, static trapeze generally remains in place, focusing on grace, strength, and body control.

  • Aerial Sling: Similar to aerial silks but with the fabric in a loop, allowing for unique wraps, suspensions, drops, and maneuvers, building strength and flexibility while expressing creativity.

  • Pole Fitness: Classes dedicated to pole dancing as a form of fitness, combining strength, flexibility, and dance elements. (Note: Concerns regarding the safety of some pole installations have been raised in reviews and should be considered by potential members).

  • Aerial Conditioning: Floor-based classes specifically designed to build the strength and flexibility required for aerial arts. These "aerial vegetables" classes target core strength, bodily awareness, endurance, and flexibility, suitable for all levels.

  • Flexible Training Options: From single drop-in classes to multi-class courses and open practice tiers, allowing members to train at their own pace and schedule. Access details are managed through the Groovio app.

  • Workshops and Special Events: Opportunities for specialized learning and community engagement beyond regular classes.

Cohesive Movement Center highlights several features that aim to distinguish it as a premier destination for aerial and movement arts in South Florida.

  • Empowering All Women: One positive review specifically mentions their mission to "empower all women of any age or size," suggesting a focus on inclusivity and body positivity within their training environment.

  • Diverse Aerial Offerings: The center provides a wide array of aerial apparatus, including aerial silks, lyra, static trapeze, aerial sling, and pole fitness, catering to various interests within the aerial arts spectrum.

  • Catering to All Skill Levels: From beginners taking their first steps in aerial arts to seasoned practitioners, the studio states it provides a space where all levels are welcome and supported in their movement journey.

  • Flexible Training Access (Claimed): The center reportedly offers members key card access for extended hours (16.5 hours daily), aiming to allow "training on your terms" and enabling consistent practice. However, issues regarding access and promised amenities being rescinded have been reported in negative reviews.

  • Community Hub: Cohesive Movement Center aims to be a "movement hub where confidence, creativity, and community come together," emphasizing connection among members.

  • Holistic Approach to Movement: Their programs are designed to blur the lines between art and fitness, providing tools for self-expression, strength, and personal growth, including specific conditioning classes tailored for aerialists.

  • Podcast for Aerial Athletes: "Join The Movement Podcast" is hosted by coaches Jill Atkinson and Rosie Wandell, offering insights, training tips, and inspiring stories from the aerial community, demonstrating a commitment to education and thought leadership in the field.

  • Privacy Prioritization (Claimed): According to their podcast, CMC prioritizes discretion by "never posting content featuring members without explicit permission," aiming to create a sanctuary for training. (Note: This is a stated intention; individual experiences may vary).

Important Considerations Based on Reviews: While the above are stated features, it's crucial for potential members to consider the critical review which raises serious concerns including:

  • Safety Issues: Reports of poorly installed and wobbly poles with loose bolts, raising significant safety concerns.

  • Unfulfilled Promises: Claims that promised amenities (like included water and nutrition support) were removed after payment.

  • Decline in Communication/Care: A reported drop in communication and care after payment was made.

  • Unwelcoming/Belittling Atmosphere: Experiences of being told "not good enough" for certain equipment despite experience, and feeling belittled when addressing concerns.

  • Unprofessional Conduct: Overhearing owners speaking negatively about other local studios.

  • Uncomfortable Training Environment: Inability to adjust temperature, leading to uncomfortable training conditions.

For Floridians, especially those in Wellington and surrounding communities who are seeking a specialized fitness experience, Cohesive Movement Center offers a unique proposition in the realm of aerial arts and movement. For individuals drawn to the artistic and physical challenges of aerial silks, lyra, or pole fitness, this studio provides a dedicated space that is relatively unique in the local fitness landscape. The positive review suggests that it can be a supportive environment where coaches are "amazing" and adept at "getting everyone moving," regardless of their prior experience. The stated mission to "empower all women of any age or size" could be particularly appealing to local women seeking a non-traditional fitness path within a body-positive community.

However, it is critically important for local users to weigh the positive feedback against the serious concerns raised in the negative review. Issues of safety related to equipment, unfulfilled promises, a perceived decline in care post-payment, and reports of an unwelcoming atmosphere are significant red flags that any prospective member should thoroughly investigate. For locals considering this center, it would be highly advisable to visit the facility in person, observe classes, speak directly with current members (if possible), and explicitly clarify all aspects of membership, amenities, safety protocols, and instructor qualifications before committing. While the concept of a dedicated aerial arts center is appealing, ensuring a safe, professional, and trustworthy environment is paramount. Therefore, while it presents an interesting option for niche fitness, due diligence is strongly recommended for any local considering Cohesive Movement Center.
