Chicago Multicultural Dance Reviews
I was looking between two schools for dance classes for my daughter. CMDC was more reasonably priced and they teach HIPLET so well worth the extra distance. It is a pleasure to be a part of a family that demonstrates Black excellence, representation, compassion, encouragement, and high expectations. I know that she doesn't recognize the gift of this opportunity, but I do. Over the years, she's been in ballet, hip hop, tap, acrobatics, and African dance. And the school offers much more! They just completed their end of year recital, which was the best yet! We're looking forward to continuing our support and her dance instruction with the CMDC family. Mr. Homer, Robin, Carl, Laniece and team are a blessing and absolutely amazing!
Jun 16, 2023 · Donita WilliamsMy, my, my! What can I say about this center? I don't know if I could say anything that would do this place justice. But I will say this is one of the best things I could have ever signed up for. Tonight was my first adult ballet class. The instructor (Homer) started right on time and noticed immediately there were two new students in the class (one being myself). He is a very personable instructor, knows his art and is encouraging. While you may not know the moves by name nor how to do them if you've never done ballet, such as myself, it's no big deal. We didn't move at a pace that couldn't be kept up with and we did moves multiple times to get comfortable with it.This dance center offers a plethora of different types of dance and the prices and payment plans are really great. I'm very happy I am a part of this class.
Feb 01, 2018 · Paris FinleyMy daughter has taken ballet and hiphop classes in the Old Town of Folk music and the Park District for the last 5 years. We recently started taking hip hop here and it's by far the best place we've been. Teachers are amazing and they really take the time to see the progress of each child. During my daughters's first class, the teacher asked me if she could keep her after the class was over (we joined mid-session) and she reviewed with her the steps and routine. My daughter was extremely happy and felt her teacher really care for her. I would highly recommend this school and we are so happy to be part of it!
Mar 18, 2017 · Carolina EstayOutstanding dance school!! The staff (Courtney) and founder/dance instructor (Mr. Homer) are very friendly, patient and knowledgeable. I would recommend this school to anyone, including adults. They represent the perfect example of diversity in the Arts. Love this school! Thank you for being such a great asset to the community!
May 26, 2016 · Cee .StovEvery once in a while you come across someone that has a profound impact on your life. Mr. Homer was one of those people to me. His no nonsense demeanor pushed me to be a better dancer. However, it was the life lessons learned that helped me to develop into the person that I am today. His love and passion for his craft is palpable. To this day I admire his drive, his passion, and his ability to be a pillar within the community. Classes with him are so much more than just learning how to be a dancer. He helps to instill the foundation, for those who chose to receive, to grow. #hiplet #dance #ConcertsForKids
