Arthur Murray Dance Studio San Rafael Reviews
My husband and I have been taking partner dance classes at Arthur Murray School of Dance in San Rafael every Tuesday night for about a year now—it's our weekly date night, made special by the staff of this big, bright and beautiful studio. From the moment we stepped through the doors, we were welcomed with open arms. As beginners, we were a little nervous, but our instructors, mainly Jordan and Keturah, immediately put us at ease. Their energy, patience, and sense of fun make every class something we look forward to. Whether it’s tango, foxtrot, waltz, or country swing, they break down the steps in a way that’s easy to follow and actually enjoyable. We always leave smiling—and often laughing! One of the highlights of our time here was participating in a dance competition called the Medal Ball. That's something we never thought we’d do! Learning a group routine and dancing in front of judges really pushed us outside our comfort zone in the best way and gave us such a sense of accomplishment (and a ton of fun memories). What sets this studio apart is the sense of community. The atmosphere is supportive, nonjudgmental, and full of people of all ages and backgrounds who are there to enjoy dancing and grow at their own pace. Whether you’re looking to dance socially, prepare for a special event, or just try something new as a couple, this is the perfect place to start. If you’ve been thinking about trying partner dancing but feel a little hesitant—go for it! Arthur Murray San Rafael is the best possible place to take that first step (literally and figuratively). We’re so glad we did.
Jun 27, 2025 · Claudia CowanMy dance experience with Arthur Murray of San Rafael is best described as enjoyable. Joy with dance is challenging but stress relieving. On entering the dance floor, the world’s cares melt away. Like any new physical activity, concentration is paramount. However the slow progression of mastery is fun.I took up dance lessons reluctantly. My physical coordination was slow. However, with a patient spouse and a more patient instructor steady progress has been made.My advice to a new student would be to take a series of lessons and relax. Dance is not a race but a flow of movement. You are on the dance floor to move with music.
