This dedication from the teaching staff is a cornerstone of APAA's success, creating an environment where dancers can flourish both technically and personally.
One of APAA's most notable contributions to the local arts scene is its annual production of the Nutcracker, performed in collaboration with the Greater Salem Ballet Company. This cherished holiday tradition provides students with invaluable performance experience, allowing them to participate in a professional-level production right here in Massachusetts. Beyond the stage, APAA also excels in the competitive dance arena, consistently exceeding expectations season after season. This competitive success speaks volumes about the quality of instruction and the dedication of both the students and their teachers.
The impact of A Performing Arts Academy extends far beyond the studio walls. As one parent eloquently stated, "My daughters have been with dancing with APAA for close to 8 years and as a parent, I appreciate the effort made by the incredible instructors to keep the dances technical, current, and age appropriate." This sentiment is echoed by many, highlighting APAA's ability to balance rigorous training with age-appropriate content. The opportunities for growth are immense, particularly for those on the competitive dance team. As the same parent noted, the team has "provided my daughter with the opportunity to increase her knowledge of dance styles, given her the ability to learn, practice & perform dance routines multiple times and increased her confidence in performing in a supportive, competitive setting." This holistic approach, fostering both skill development and personal confidence, truly makes APAA a premier point of interest for performing arts in our community.
Furthermore, APAA fosters strong friendships and a supportive community among its dancers. The experience of being on a dance team, for example, allows younger dancers to learn alongside and look up to older, more experienced peers, fostering a sense of camaraderie and mentorship. This supportive environment contributes significantly to a student's overall confidence and deepens their love for dance, ensuring that their journey at APAA is not just about learning steps but about personal growth and lasting connections. May 30, 2019 · Jennifer ReamesMy daughter has danced here for over 8 years. The instructors are caring and inspiring. They push them to do their best but in a positive and rewarding way by providing excellent opportunities for competitive dancers, but also supporting those who are not in it for the competitions. Jan 08, 2019 · Alexia MeechinMy daughter has taken dance and movement classes at APAA since she was 3 years old. She has loved every minute. She has the opportunity to try all different styles of dance. She has the opportunity to participate in classes as well as Dance Team, Nutcracker, recitals and more. The studio is the best that I have seen and the teachers care that each of the dancers is able to thrive and grow. My daughter has learned life skills thru her experience at APAA. She has gained self confidence and grace. She has also learned compassion for others. Her dance friends are like family! I strongly recommend APAA!!!
