Wedding Dance Lesson LA specializes in personalized dance instruction designed specifically for weddings and special events. Their core offerings revolve around private lessons and custom choreography, ensuring each couple's dance is as unique as their love story.
- First Dance Choreography: This is the primary service, where Kim Clark works closely with couples to choreograph a custom first dance routine to their chosen song. The choreography is tailored to the couple's skill level (from absolute beginners to more experienced dancers), vision, and the song's style and length.
- Personalized Dance Lessons: Private, one-on-one sessions ensure that couples receive dedicated attention and feedback. This allows for personalized pacing, addressing individual strengths and areas for improvement. Lessons are designed to build confidence and comfort on the dance floor.
- Beginner-Friendly Instruction: A significant highlight is their ability to teach "complete beginners," making dance accessible to everyone. Kim Clark meets couples "where they were" and gently "encouraged us to push our boundaries while understanding our limitations."
- Father-Daughter Dance Choreography: Creating a memorable and touching routine for the father-daughter dance, a cherished tradition at many weddings.
- Mother-Son Dance Choreography: Helping mothers and sons create a special dance moment that will be a highlight of the reception.
- Bridal Party / Group Dance Choreography: For couples looking to involve their bridal party or other family members in a fun, choreographed group dance, adding an extra element of entertainment to the reception.
- Song Selection and Editing Assistance: While couples typically bring their own song, the instructor can offer guidance on suitable dance styles for different music and advise on music editing (e.g., shortening the length) if needed to fit the choreographed routine.
- Confidence Building: Beyond just steps, the lessons focus on building the couple's confidence and comfort dancing together in front of an audience, transforming potential nervousness into enjoyable performance.
- Flexible Scheduling: Private lessons are often available by appointment, accommodating busy schedules common during wedding planning.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Kim Clark is an exceptional wedding dance teacher who brings a perfect mix of professionalism, patience, and fun to every lesson. Her clear instructions and personalized choreography made us feel confident and comfortable, even as beginners. She took the time to understand our vision and helped us create a first dance that felt uniquely “us.” Kim’s energy and encouragement turned what could’ve been a stressful experience into one of the most enjoyable parts of wedding prep. We can’t recommend her highly enough to any couple looking to shine on the dance floor.
Jun 25, 2025 · Victor LouieWe cannot say enough nice things about our experience with Kim! Her kindness, communication, dependability, and attention to detail truly made our wedding dance spectacular. Highly recommend if you are looking for a fun first dance choreographer or dance lessons. We were complete beginners, and Kim was able to meet us where we were, and encourage us to push our boundaries while understanding our limitations, including a disability.
Jun 29, 2025 · Meghan CallahanWe can’t say enough wonderful things about Kim! She somehow managed to strike the perfect balance between my background in dance and my husband’s total shyness on the dance floor—and made us both feel completely confident for our first dance. She choreographed a routine that felt true to us, fun to learn, and totally doable—even in a wedding dress and heels! She also helped us put together a last-minute parent dance, all while being mindful of every little detail, from our shoes to the flow of my gown. Every Sunday rehearsal felt like a fun date, and we genuinely looked forward to each one.Six months later, people are still talking about our dance—how natural it looked, how joyful we seemed, and how every dip and lift got huge cheers. We felt so comfortable, and our smiles say it all in the photos. We’re so grateful for her guidance, patience, and positivity throughout the entire process!
May 03, 2025 · Allison CrystalKim was absolutely incredible. She didn’t just teach us the steps—she helped us move through the nerves and actually enjoy the process. She took the time to understand both of our comfort levels, patiently broke down each move, and made everything feel simple, fun, and totally doable. What really stood out was how she tailored the choreography to fit us—balancing our strengths and finding a beautiful middle ground that felt natural. My partner wasn’t a dancer at all before this, and now he genuinely loves it and wants to keep dancing! We had so much fun, and it's all thanks to her guidance, warmth, and talent. We couldn’t recommend her more.
Jul 02, 2025 · Aqsa AltafI can’t recommend getting a choreographer for your first dance enough. You get to do dance classes with your soon to be spouse before you get married. It’s such a fun experience and brings you closer. Plus you have this amazing dance to show your family and friends on your wedding day instead of just swaying back and forth. We LOVED working with Kim. She’s a professional dancer and is passionate, not just about teaching, but about you looking amazing during your first dance. She really pays attention to the details and instructs your movements so you look your best. We did 3 sessions with her and felt 100% confident by the final one. You don’t need to be a dancer by any means, she will direct you fully. My husband had no previous experience with dancing. We liked working with her so much that we added on a choreographed dance for the Mother/Son & Father/Daughter dance. We decided to combine them and do a choreographed dance together. It was a fun Sunday getting both of our parents and doing a dance class together. We ended up with two beautiful dances and wonderful memories! Thank you, Kim!
