Tiny Tots (starting at 15 months): Specifically designed for the youngest dancers, these classes focus on introducing movement, rhythm, and peer interaction in a fun and engaging environment. A parent/guardian may participate initially, with a gentle transition towards independent participation as the year progresses.
Combination Classes (Ballet/Tap/Jazz, Ballet/Tap/Acrobatics): For preschoolers and young elementary students (ages 3-6), these classes provide a foundational introduction to multiple dance styles, fostering coordination, musicality, and a love for dance in a creative setting.
Ballet: As the core of dance technique, ballet classes emphasize classical form, alignment, grace, and strength. Students learn French terminology, barre work, center combinations, and traveling steps, progressing from beginner levels up to advanced pointe work (by invitation).
Jazz: Energetic and expressive, jazz classes teach various styles, from Broadway to contemporary. Students develop rhythm, isolations, leaps, turns, and performance quality through engaging choreography. Character Jazz, focusing on personality and stage presence, is also offered.
Tap: These classes focus on rhythmic footwork and musicality. Students learn to create sounds with their feet, developing precise timing and coordination while exploring various tap styles.
Lyrical: Blending elements of ballet and jazz, lyrical dance emphasizes emotional expression and storytelling through fluid movement. Dancers interpret song lyrics and connect deeply with the music.
Hip Hop: High-energy and contemporary, hip hop classes teach street-style dance, focusing on isolations, rhythm, and dynamic movements to popular music. Sub-styles like popping, waving, and breakdance may be introduced.
Acrobatics (Acro)/Tumbling: These skill-based classes enhance strength, flexibility, and balance. Students learn various acrobatic elements, including tumbling passes, limbering, and stunting, often incorporating basic jazz movement to connect skills.
Modern: Based on principles from pioneers like Limon, modern dance explores the use of space, time, and energy, focusing on internal expression, floor work, and unique movement vocabulary, distinct from contemporary or jazz.
Irish Dance: Students learn traditional Irish folk dances (jig, reel, hornpipe), focusing on specific footwork, and group dances (Ceilis), which develop teamwork and coordination. Choreographed work combining elements is also taught.
Ballroom Dance: Introducing the basics of American Smooth (waltz, foxtrot, tango) and American Rhythm styles, these classes develop posture, coordination, and balance for partner dancing.
Ellové Technique®: A conditioning and cross-training class that integrates ballet, yoga, fitness, and Pilates movements to improve strength, flexibility, and control, taught by certified specialists.
Musical Theater/Acting/Vocal: These classes incorporate improv games, actor's warm-ups, stage presence, basic auditioning, and singing techniques (posture, breath, projection, harmony), culminating in showcase performances.
Cheer: Includes stunting, partnering, and tosses (age-dependent), focusing on bases, flyers, and tumbling.
Technique Classes: Dedicated to enhancing specific skills like turns, leaps, and flexibility, often highly recommended for competition dancers.
Performing Companies (Competition Teams): Audition-based teams for dedicated dancers (grades 3-12) seeking more performance opportunities. These teams compete at regional and potentially national competitions, focusing on teamwork, hard work, and technical excellence.

Jun 22, 2022 · Alexandra O'learyCan not say more amazing things about TPDC! My daughter started out when she was in first grade and has been a thriving dancer ever since! She is now in her third year of the competition team (ignite) and has learned so much about being a teammate, hard work, and of course dance! Her teachers are amazing working with her to her full potential in a nurturing and friendly environment! All of her dance teachers really know about choreography, technique, and how to challenge their dancers in a positive way! We are so grateful that we have this dance studio in our lives! 5 ++++ stars
May 16, 2022 · Jackie WoodsIf I can give 10 stars I would! This was our first time at the studio and our daughter was in the toddler class at the Lockport location. Her teacher - Miss. Chrissy - is an awesome and an amazing teacher. My daughter couldn’t stop talking about her and she really warmed up to her (she still talks about her and her friends!). Definitely definitely recommend either location and any other teachers too! Throughout the time at the studio, she had different teachers as well and she always wanted to go back and felt comfortable with any of the other teachers! She actually danced a little bit at the recital too and she really enjoyed dancing in the classes with her friends!
