The Little Gym of Chicago offers a diverse range of services, with a strong emphasis on their engaging and skill-building summer camps. Their programs are designed to cater to a wide age range, ensuring that children at different developmental stages can benefit from their unique approach to movement and learning.
Gymnastics Camps (Summer Camps): These are at the heart of their summer offerings. Ideal for children aged 3 to 12 years, the camps are designed to help children learn and grow through movement and imaginative play. They run for a few hours each day, making them a flexible option for parents. The camps incorporate gymnastics instruction but also focus on motor skill development, discipline, focus, confidence, self-esteem, goal setting, and social skills.
Super Quest Camps: Specifically for boys and girls aged 3-8, these three-hour adventure-filled camps revolve around unique, interactive learning themes each week with different, creative lesson plans. Children embark on a "quest" with their peers, fostering imagination and physical activity.
Grade School Skill Thrill Camps: Designed for older children (generally ages 6-12), these three-hour programs focus on taking gymnastics skills to the next level. They concentrate on specific beginner, intermediate, or advanced moves, catering to those who want to deepen their gymnastics abilities.
Parent/Child Classes (Ages 4 months - 3 years): Year-round classes that involve parents in their child's early physical and cognitive development. These classes focus on gross motor skills, coordination, and early social interaction.
Preschool Gymnastics Classes (Ages 3-6 years): Structured classes that get preschoolers moving, learning, and laughing, focusing on foundational motor skills, balance, and coordination, all within a fun, non-competitive environment.
Grade School Gymnastics Classes (Ages 6-12 years): These classes allow children to tackle new challenges at their own skill level, building strength, flexibility, and advanced gymnastics techniques.
Dance Programs (Ages 3-12 years): Dance classes that focus on building skills and technique in various dance styles.
Awesome Birthday Bashes: As highlighted by a satisfied customer, The Little Gym is a popular venue for birthday parties. They offer 1.5-hour private parties with games, music, and activities led by trained instructors, handling setup and cleanup for a stress-free experience for parents. Themed party options are also available.
The Little Gym of Chicago distinguishes itself through several key features and highlights that consistently earn it high praise from local Illinois families. These attributes contribute to its reputation as a premier destination for children's active learning and fun.
Three-Dimensional Learning Approach: This proprietary curriculum focuses on developing the whole child – "Get Moving" (physical skills, healthy habits), "Brain Boost" (love of learning, problem-solving), and "Citizen Kid" (social skills, cooperation, leadership). This holistic approach ensures children grow physically, mentally, and emotionally.
Highly Engaging and Supportive Staff: Multiple reviews commend the staff and coaches (shoutout to Anna, Daniel, and Vanessa!), describing them as "amazing," "very engaging with the kids," "friendly and helpful," and "super professional, energetic." This high level of staff dedication ensures a positive and encouraging environment for all children.
Clean and Well-Maintained Facility: Parents appreciate that "the place was very clean (they vacuum and disinfect regularly)," which provides peace of mind regarding their children's health and safety while at the gym.
Mix of Structured and Unstructured Play: As one parent noted, the balance between structured lessons and free play is "the perfect fit for our kiddo." This approach allows children to learn new skills while also exploring and developing independently.
Focus on Skill and Confidence Growth: Families consistently observe significant improvements in their children's "skill and confidence." The non-competitive environment encourages children to try new things and overcome challenges, boosting their self-esteem.
Themed Weekly Activities and Take-Home Ideas: Coaches implement weekly themes and focus on different skills, providing parents with ideas to continue the learning at home, which enhances the overall developmental experience.
Exceptional Birthday Party Experience: The Little Gym excels at hosting birthday parties, taking "every responsibility and worry away for the entire block of time." Their enthusiastic staff, themed options, and comprehensive planning make for a "blast" for kids and a "reasonable" and relaxing experience for parents.
Flexible Scheduling and Makeup Classes: The ease of scheduling makeup classes via text or phone call is a highly valued feature for busy parents, demonstrating the gym's commitment to customer convenience.

The Little Gym of Chicago Reviews
We recently organized a birthday party at the Little Gym, and couldn't have been happier with the whole experience. They worked with us to make sure that the food and decorations we provided were set up, they really got into the theme we chose, and were genuinely excited to have fun with the kids on a "parents' night out" on a Saturday night. The place was very clean (they vacuum and disinfect regularly), and the staff was very engaging with the kids, making sure to usher the parents out of the way and on with their evenings. The price was very reasonable considering they took every responsibility and worry away for the entire block of time. All the kids had a blast, admittedly because we peered in from the street window to see everyone laughing and jumping around. It was also nice to see parents be able to drop their kids off and spend a few hours unwinding (a dozen of us went around the corner to Flagship, which was also great). We look forward to going back soon.
Mar 14, 2023 · Jonathan DouglasWe’ve been going to Little Gym for over a year and absolutely love it. Our son is now 2 and we started him in classes just after he started walking. I love that it’s a mixture of structured and unstructured play, which is the perfect fit for our kiddo. It’s been amazing to see what skills he has picked up from class. All of the coaches we’ve had have been wonderful (shoutout to Anna, Daniel, and Vanessa). Every week they have a theme and focus on different skills and give you ideas of what to do at home to continue the theme. The staff is super friendly and helpful. If we can’t make it in or need to schedule a makeup class, it’s easy to do via text or phone call.
Nov 14, 2022 · Ash CThis place is great for little ones. All the coaches are friendly, caring, and really enthusiastic with the kiddos. My kiddo loves attending class. And I like how they will remember the progress of the kids and provide feedback. I highly recommend.
Dec 11, 2024 · Karlita MercedesI usually do not write reviews however I feel very compelled to write a review because of our positive experience. My 3yo daughter absolutely loves this gym. She attended her first class this week. The coaches were very responsive and very on top of coordinating the classroom time and welcome/introduction days before the class. When it actually came down to the first day of class it was amazing. I have never seen my daughter more comfortable and happy in an activity. She gladly ran in to the class independently and tried new experiences and took risks that otherwise would have been hesitant to try. The coaches used imaginative play while also using structured learning to practice basic gymnastic skills. I see ourselves growing with the gym over the next many years.
Jul 15, 2024 · Brooke CuiThe staff is really nice and hyper! This is excellent because they are daling with young kids. They seem to be enjoying what they are teaching and this in turn has a great effect on kids attitudes.
