The Center of the Performing Arts Reviews
My son and daughter have started taking dance here in September this year. So only a little under 4 months. Both my children have danced at two other studios that closed. Ms. Beth is an excellent instructor! She sets a high standard. Both of my children have improved tremendously with the short time they have danced with her. Both of my children love taking classes here!
Dec 15, 2017 · MichelleMs. Beth and the Center are a blessing to the community. The productions are very professional and worth the time and effort you and your dancer will put into making it happen. Affordable, family atmosphere, fun classes. Beth and the other instructors are kind and good with children and adults alike. Personally have had kids in all the programs - dance, drama, music, and art.
Dec 18, 2019 · Colleen FloriI did a trial piano lesson here since it was the only place in town that provides them. The teacher seemed experience, knowledgable and good with kids, but I stuck with our old teacher who is quite a commute away because of the Center itself. I find personal piano lessons much more flexible. With the Center, if your kids are sick or something comes up in your schedule, you are financially responsible for 4 lessons a month regardless of whether you attend or not. An individual teacher is generally much more forgiving than this. I also, sadly, got a very un-friendly/irritated vibe from the owner (who is not the piano teacher). Granted, I had 3 very small children who were cranky in the afternoon, but still, I felt very uncomfortable and unwelcomed in a place that is generally geared towards working with small children. If the teacher offered lessons separate from this center, I would have gone with him, but I simply did not want to go back to this Center or work with their policies which are (understandably so) much more rigid than a private teacher.
Nov 17, 2018 · Emily NelsonSmall uncomfortable waiting area for parents with no food or drink allowed. You are not allowed to see your child practice (important for first time dancers to help parent determine child engagement and if they like it). Weekend desk staff extremely rude. Difficult to make payments due to most staff cannot take payments and you are asked to pay later then you have to pay a late fee but it's because the staff couldn't take the payments.
Dec 03, 2017 · Moriah GodseyVery unprofessional. Our daughter attended the facility for several months. She was part of a class of three 3-4 year olds that practiced ballet and tap in room the size of a large work cubical. We were not allowed to see our child practice and were asked to wait in a very small unconformable waiting area where you were not allowed any food or drinks (including water). The weekend desk staff were unable to take our monthly payments which resulted in monthly late fees. Only select staff could take payments which were not available on the weekend and they could not do autopay or take payment over the phone. We eventually stopped attending and were expected to pay for two months in which our daughter did not attend. Staff members harassed us for payment which we eventually agreed to make with the understanding that the owner would contact us so we could voice our concerns/complaints. Interestingly enough suddenly staff could take payment over the phone which they refused to do prior. So payment for services never received was made and interestingly enough the owner never contacted us. We did receive a call from the staff stating that the owner was to busy to speak with us. To busy to have a phone conversation at the time convenient for her, REALLY? When asked if we could leave the complaint with the staff member we were told no because she did not feel comfortable taking the complaint in case she miscommunicated the problem. Very unprofessional.
