Texas Youth Ballet Reviews
Our 8yo daughter has been taking ballet for a few years and had the great fortune to be able to attend a 3-week summer intensive at Texas Youth Ballet this summer. The intensive was highly focused and constructive and the training she received was top-notch. She has gotten nothing but positive feedback on her development over the summer from the instructors at her regular studio as we’ve returned for the fall! If we lived closer we would definitely consider TYB for her year-round training, but for now it’s been a wonderful addition to her training and we will definitely be back next summer.
Aug 28, 2024 · Nicole KelloggMy daughter and I both started ballet at the Texas Youth Ballet in 2012 and we have been involved in different ways ever since. There are so many wonderful opportunities at TYB for children.. and their parents! All fields of creativity come together here for each and every lovely production .It's a very special place!
Dec 08, 2023 · Wendi BrothertonMy daughter has been dancing with TYBC for five years. The instruction here is superior. The concern of the teachers to focus on correct technique and developing the whole dancer pleases me as the parent. The camaraderie among the dancers and my daughters love for ballet keep her coming back year after year. We especially love that The Company, Youth Ballet of Texas, works closely with this studio and provides a magnificent opportunity to perform full length classical ballets. This is unique and just what we always envisioned for our daughter. Her growth as a dancer is evident, and we are looking forward to seeing her hit the stage again soon. Come and watch a performance and see what your dancer could be a part of right here in the heart of Mckinney!!
Aug 12, 2016 · Danielle HerodGreat classical ballet school! The owner and instructors are very professional and focus on the students becoming excellent dancers. This school gives the kids the opportunity to be in full length performances and not just recitals.
Mar 02, 2020 · SteveMy daughter (14) has danced at Texas Youth Ballet Conservatory for the past 3 years. We have had such an amazing experience and in an area saturated with dance studios I offer the following "selling points" as to why we chose TYBC and why we have stayed:-This is the best classical ballet instruction north of the Metroplex. You might find flashier, but you will NOT find anything as solid. It was recommended to us by our former ballet teacher as the studio she herself had chosen for her own daughters.-It is not a competition studio. The focus is on technique and performance. I know some love the competition aspect and that is fine, but it is not what our family wanted.-Performance costumes do not make our kids look like someone 15 years older making a poor fashion (or career) choice.-There is no drama. There really isn't. Not with girls, not with moms.-Lead roles do not always go to the same kids. Our director believes that learning how to dance in a core is an equally important part of ballet training. The advanced students recognize and understand when it is not their turn.-Classes are affordable. Compare to pretty much any other studio and you will see this is true.-My daughter had spinal fusion surgery last December to correct scoliosis. She was loved and our family was supported before during and after the surgery. It might sound cliche, but TYBC is a family.-The road following surgery has not always been an easy one. Our daughter has struggled to regain skills that once came naturally. Through this process TYBC director Jennifer Dulin has been such an encouragement, working to understand Colby's "new" body and help her make the necessary corrections to thrive once again. This weekend she will leave to study in Connecticut for for 6 weeks at the Bolshoi Ballet summer intensive, an exclusive and competitive program. It is hard to believe less than 6 months ago she was in a hospital bed.-My 8-year-old also loves TYBC's classes and color-coded leveling system. It is sweet for the younger girls and boys to have such positive role-models in the older students, and to learn solid technique right from the beginning.
