Santa Clarita Ballet Academy Reviews
My daughter recently started here and I feel the studio is very organized. I appreciate knowing the dates of all events for the whole year ahead of time. Her teacher has been kind, and my daughter enjoys going to class every week. The other parents and staff have been welcoming. I look forward to continuing with them.
Jan 04, 2025 · Bambi BallesterosMy experience at Santa Clarita Ballet Academy was nothing short of a nightmare. The racial insensitivity, inept conflict resolution, and appalling management staff have created an environment that is neither welcoming nor conducive to artistic growth. My daughter experienced racial microaggressions from another dancer and bullying and intimidation from the dancer's parent. When this issue was brought to the attention of the owner of the studio, the response was dismissive at best and hostile at worst. Rather than addressing the concerns and fostering an inclusive environment, the owner chose to ignore the complaints and told me and my daughter to stay or leave but that she wasn't going to approach the issue. The lack of effective conflict resolution left my daughter feeling unheard and marginalized. In addition, the studio refuses to honor and celebrate diverse holidays (ie. MLK Day) but is closed for Halloween which speaks to their lack of celebrating diversity. Also, the administrative side of the studio is chaotic. Communication is poor, with important information often being conveyed at the last minute or not at all. The schedule is frequently changed without notice, causing significant inconvenience to the dancers and their families. There have been times where dancers have felt unsafe leaving the studio because of suspicious men loitering in close vicinity to the studio. This was disturbing to many parents and dancers.I urge anyone considering joining this studio to look elsewhere. There are plenty of other dance studios that value inclusivity, respect, and professionalism--qualities that are sorely lacking at Santa Clarita Ballet Academy. While my daughter did indeed experience spectacular productions, I sadly, in good conscience cannot recommend this school to anyone seeking a place where multiculturalism isn't just tolerated but deliberately and intentionally embraced.
Jun 13, 2024 · J SI have been dancing at Santa Clarita Ballet since I was 5. I am now 22 and have had a professional career in ballet, all due to the amazing teaching and coaching I received here. Corinne, Carol, Danica, and Tawny are superb at what they do, and the results from their dancers is a testament to how great this studio is — they create amazing dancers! I will always recommend this studio to anyone in the LA area.
Oct 14, 2023 · Gianna SOutstanding and professional ballet instruction. Our daughter started taking classes at Santa Clarita Ballet in 2008, when she was five years old. Through the instruction she has received, she has thrived in dance and found something she truly loves. The teachers are all excellent. They are gentle and kind while still finding ways to challenge and develop the talents of each student. The chance to be around the older dancers has been a great experience for our daughter. They have all been very sweet and encouraging and serve as great role models for the younger dancers. The teachers and office staff work hard to involve parents and create a welcoming atmosphere for the families and dancers. Our experience with Santa Clarita Ballet has been wonderful. We are very fortunate to have this excellent school where our daughter can experience the rewards of hard work and dedication.
May 09, 2014 · Amy GMy daughters attend ballet class at the Santa Clarita Ballet Academy. I am very satisfied with the classical training that they are receiving. The studio is professional, well-structured and maintains a standard of progress for its students. I am most impressed with the age appropriate classes, conservative dance attire, and the behavior of the dancers who attend this school. I would not send my girls anywhere else!
