Royal Dance Works Reviews
I have been personally dancing at Royal Dance Works for 43 years. I started when I was 3 years old and now I’ve been teaching for over 25 years. I can say, without a doubt this is one of the most wonderful places for your children to learn and grow as a dancer! Carole Royal has been the original owner since the day it opened 46 years ago. We have a group of teachers who have been there over 20 years. You don’t see that very much anymore. We have spectacular teachers and choreographers that truly care about your Dancer like family. We would love to meet you and share with you our passion and love for dance!
Apr 30, 2025 · Melissa BaumRoyal Dance Works has been "second home" for my girls for many years. They love the studio, teachers, classes - everything! They would not want to move to any other studios in the valley, and that speaks for itself! Being part of RDW competitive teams is a big commitment, lots of extra rehearsals and hard work, but it is NOT "overly-competitive" and "cut-throat", girls are still having lots of fun, building strong team bonds and friendships. We love that vibe and atmosphere!I felt compelled to leave my review after reading this horrible negative 1 star post. Not sure what exactly happened there, but I've been working with RDW for many years, and I know how hard they work to make everyone happy, but it is just impossible. :)Just like any other dance studios, RDW has certain policies - attendance, behavior in classes, auditions for teams, classes placements based on different skill levels... Sometimes you do not get what you want, or your child is not placed in the class/level you want them to (I've been there, I know how it feels :))... but it is not a reason to leave horrible review full of threats and awful accusations. We all came here for the great and intense dance training, not babysitting, and it comes with rules (like it or not). RDW staff was always very supportive, and we've never had any communication problems when we had questions or concerns.
Sep 09, 2024 · Olga PtashnyukAfter paying this school for a year & putting down a deposit on a dress. My 8 year old was suddenly kicked out & told to kick rocks via email & text snidely asking if I’d seen the email? They didn’t’t think we merit even the consideration of maybe letting us down gently by phone. No. Text was completely appropriate. But I’ve already complained about all of that on Yelp.I’m now sharing what followed their lies that they would refund my stolen money on Tuesday. So, when I was thinking that all of this nastiness had been resolved, I get a wonderful call from my bank, advising that this studio, rather than refunding me the money that they stole from me & had no right to, had in fact charged me the whole amount... again.I just can't with these people. The depths of their nastiness, incompetence & straight up dishonesty is really more than anyone can even comprehend, never mind try to endure. And don't forget that all of this began, because despite the teacher not even teaching my daughter's final class because she was out sick, like she was out most of November, too, I might add, my 8 year old just couldn't cut it.This has swiftly turned into one of the most ridiculous & unpleasant experiences of my life.Don't even ask my child how she feels....She is a third grader in 4th grade math, but she can't figure out how to sing a song & move her body parts in a directed manner. She's only been in dance & theater since preschool. We only left her last school because they changed her schedule, but this school would just never accept that we had experience, it just didn't fit their falsely perceived perceptions. But of course, none of this had anything to do with my child or her abilities, perceived or otherwise. This was all about someone's overrated ego.So petty & idiotic. The whole thing.Thank god I come from a family of lawyers.I'm not dealing with this dumpster fire anymore & 1 highly recommend that no one else makes the same mistake that I did.DO NOT enroll your child here.
Feb 02, 2024 · Lilith CaulfieldMy daughter has attended classes at Royal Dance Works since she was 3 years old. She is now 13. The teachers at Royal are excellent. They are talented dancers and choreographers, and they are very aware of how to teach children. They have high expectations, but are also very caring and helpful. Communication at Royal can be improved upon, but with the quality of dance instruction and experiences dancers have there, communication is only a minor issue.
Oct 03, 2018 · Diana HenryWe have been part of the studio family for 4 seasons now, and can't wait for many more! Happy 45 years Royal!!!!
