Latin Rhythms Academy of Dance & Performance Reviews
Environment is nice, and the instructors seem passionate. While the class I'm enrolled in is educational, the instructor appears to be used to teaching those with some background or familiarity, whereas beginners or those with special needs requiring more effort can feel singled out for making mistakes. It would be nice if future classes could be transitioned into 1:1 lessons, or beginners level classes were offered (bachata basic 1 spends more work on technical, which is fun and helpful, but still feels more advanced than advertised).
Jan 19, 2025 · Matt CastonThis is so. much more than a place to learn latin dance--it is a strong community of people who love to learn dance and love to help others learn. The teachers are professional and fun. The studio hosts bi-weekly social dances that give us all a chance to practice with each other as well as with experienced dancers who are also willing to dance with the newbies, like me. I recently took a private lesson with Jorge, one of the instructors, to get a "boost" in my salsa dance skills and it was extremely helpful! Jorge really gave me more confidence and the encouragement I needed at a point when I was struggling a bit in class. Between the support of my classmates and this one-on-one focus with Jorge, I am even more committed to continuing my latin dance journey. I highly recommend you check out this studio, lead by the Maricza, the CEO and Artistic Director, for 25 years. I am honored to have Maricza as my salsa teacher!
Mar 09, 2025 · Tanya RhoneMaricza is one of the best salsa dancers I’ve ever met—and it translates so well into her teaching skills. She makes class fun and I’d highly recommend this studio to anyone looking to start dancing. My husband and I joined as beginners and love it! It’s 1000000% worth trying out!!
Jan 04, 2025 · G ZAwesome place to learn Salsa and Bachata! I love the set curriculum they have... Rafael and Maricza are incredible teachers!
Jan 29, 2025 · Avi StrickerI, unfortunately, did not have a good experience. My friend and sister and I accidentally signed up for the wrong level class. We realized this when we figured out when had to check in, since there’s no directive for new dancers. We had signed up for the highest level class. And instead of the being a understanding, the people, Jane and a man, running the front desk kept telling us that it was the highest level and there was no soultion. We asked to get our money back and they did accommodate us in that aspect.I understand the mistake is on us, but Jane had quite the demeaning attitude. As new dancers, they did not make the environment welcoming in the slightest. We will not be returning.
