Lakeshore Dance & Gymnastics Reviews
My daughter loves it. The management has been helpful and very diligent during Covid.
Apr 29, 2021 · Justin SmithToddler parents- you may want to look elsewhere.I have nothing *terrible* to say about Lakeshore but little things add up- started every dance class 5-7 min late, and the bounced back and forth between an aux cord and CD throughout class(several minutes between songs/ activities) makes me feel like there was zero thought or preparation for my daughters class. Major deal breakfor for a toddler? No. But it didn't make me feel my money was well spent.Communication between the studio/ Instructor and parents is very poor. It was like pulling teeth to get info on where our kids should be for the dance recital. Also- after buying costumes- we were charged several extra times for special rights and add ons- again communication up front is poor.Again at the recital- organization is poor, to put it nicely. Mishaps with ticketing, no idea where kids should be when we dropped them off. Recital started almost 40 min late due to complete lack of organization. We've signed up for camps and had to call the night before to ask- what to bring? Time? What to wear? Never got any confirmation besides charging my credit card. Glad I did call because the times the advertised were *not* the times of the camps (again- communication? How is that missed?).I've heard rave reviews from several other families about Lakeshore but what I experienced was far from stellar. Maybe it's better when your child is at competitive levels, but my experience doesn't make me want to put my money into this studio until my kid makes it to that point. Overall my kid loved dance but the general communication and delivery of services leaves something to be desired.
Jul 10, 2024 · Alexa AllgeierDone. Done. Done. We've been customers since 2022, rotating our kids between dance and gymnastics and only really stuck around because of the convenience of location to our home.We signed up for summer 2024 DANCE (Jazz) classes and because my kid is the only one who showed up, you pawned her off on the gymnastics teacher because she's not worth your time. If you had an emergency (which wasn't the case), we’d understand. But you cut lessons short (for the 2nd time) and ditched my daughter because you don't want to give a private lesson. She didn’t want to do gymnastics over the summer AND I never signed a waiver for summer gymnastics, which is a liability. We showed up for DANCE, we paid, you should deliver on your services and be willing to work with kids - regardless of their skill level or turnout. Disgraceful.Since no one was showing up for your classes’ week after week, you finally said you were issuing refunds that we never received. That’s likely since you “don't give refunds” (it’s clear why) and tried to get me to resign the no refund policy in the parent portal. Nope…Give us our money back, thank you. Also, who the heck did you hire for recital photos? Both gymnastics and dance photos WERE TERRIBLE!! (even worse than last year's!) My kids were photographed against a cinderblock wall in the dance studio with electrical outlets showing. Red eye, no backdrop, no lighting setup, no photoshopping - what kind of photographer does that?Suggestion for parents/caregivers: Go elsewhere for dance lessons - no matter how old your kid is, if even it’s just for fun. As someone who has seen other dance studio's recitals and competition teams over the last 17 years, this place stinks. Aside from a few talented 9–12-year old’s (the only one’s winning awards), they aren't willing to work with your kids to have a stage presence (or at all from my example above.) There are barely any older kids at this studio because everyone leaves to expand skills elsewhere. The recitals are terrible (too long, start late, unorganized, etc.) and most kids year-over-year show no progress and look miserable on stage. When your 3yo children don't cooperate on stage because they’re scared, they just yell at them to get off the stage or physically remove them for the sake of their $45 recital video. You've got a quality-of-service issue with your dance studio. Reevaluate your operations, maybe see how other (thriving) studios operate, and hire people who can and will work well with children and support them.

Mar 11, 2023 · Ernesha MillerI went here when my kids were really young and it was okay for the parent assisted classes. Then I tried again this year for the rec classes for my now older kids and it's not worth it. You get about 10 minutes of actual coaching for an hour and a half class. The classes are over capacity and the structure is unorganized. If you are looking for serious gymnastics instruction on an individual basis, this is not your facility.
