Jan 25, 2023 · Kiara RobinsonThere were a number of likes that granted outweighed the dislikes. The price was good for what we received and comparable to other dance studies. I think it’s important to know if your child wants to dance or if they may have disabilities whether autistic, high anxiety, difficulty focusing, or just struggle following directions in general. I feel like this was a struggle area with the studio over all. We were informed of days our child “struggled” saying they didn’t dance much, etc as parents aren’t really allowed to watch aside from days they’re invited to do so. It’s less distracting for the kids. My dislikes: my child was given a completely different costume than the other kids unbeknownst to me as the parent. My child was then teased by other children in the dance class which made them cry on recital day. I didn’t like that my child was singled out intentionally by the staff. After a lengthy talk with my child it was disclosed that’s they didn’t like the dance school because the kids were mean but also my child just wanted to go for the fun of dancing when they wanted, not dance in front of everybody. My child did say that Ms Ice and the other teachers were nice. As a parent that was present for after rehearsal communication I feel more conversations were warranted. Although recitals are not mandatory, my child does not have the desire to return based on how she was treated. Also on picture day, (all of this occurring in the same 5 minute moment!) my child took a group photo, which was then re-taken because another child was not in the picture, and then my child missed that picture and there was no intention of re-taking the picture so that all of the students were present. NOR was her presence even missed which solidified how I feel the instructors felt about my child. All of that to say that if you have a child that struggles, has behaviors, disabilities, etc. this may not be the best environment for them. Out of her entire dance class only she and another Caucasian child had on different costumes, but they also seem to be the two children that struggled the most behaviorally.
Jan 19, 2023 · Jazmine HarrisWe love Ice studios! My oldest has been dancing at ICE studios for about 6 years and my youngest started this year! They offer tumbling, jazz, tap, hip-hop, ballet, contemporary and more. All at an affordable price and best part for me is that it's faith based. This studio is helping to build up confidence in children from 3-18 , showing them how to work together and work towards a common goal. I could go on and on. The teachers are passionate about dance and are committed. Keep going Ms. Ice!
