Howdy, Texans! For anyone in Plano and the wider North Texas area seeking a dance studio that truly feels like family, a place where artistic dreams are nurtured, and lifelong memories are forged, Gotta Dance stands as a beloved institution. This isn't just a building where dance steps are taught; it’s a vibrant community where students, teachers, and parents come together through a shared love of movement and the joy it brings. We understand that finding local businesses that not only provide exceptional training but also foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment is paramount for families here in Texas, and Gotta Dance embodies these values beautifully.
Gotta Dance has carved out a special place in the hearts of many in the Plano community. Numerous former students fondly recall their time at the studio as a source of their "favorite childhood memories." They speak of growing up dancing there for "about 7 years" and forming "so many friendships and memories that I cherish to this day." This sentiment highlights a core philosophy at Gotta Dance: creating a welcoming atmosphere where students can thrive not just as dancers, but as individuals. The studio actively promotes a sense of belonging, fostering "a community of students, teachers, and parents that truly love dance and the joy it brings!" This contrasts sharply with overly competitive environments found elsewhere, making Gotta Dance a refreshing and nurturing choice.
Under the artistic direction of Cindi Lawrence Hanson, who has led the studio for decades, Gotta Dance offers high-quality training across a vast assortment of classes. Beyond the general classes, Gotta Dance is also the official training studio for the prestigious non-profit Plano Metropolitan Ballet (PMB). The magic of watching and eventually performing in the PMB's original fairy tale ballets is a cherished memory for many young dancers, adding a unique and enchanting dimension to their training. From the earliest introduction to dance to advanced levels, Gotta Dance is committed to providing an inclusive environment for "every kind of dancer," helping to "mold" individuals into the confident people they are today. If you're "thinking about signing up for classes, do it! You won't regret it!"

From the vast assortment of classes, to the amazing teachers, to getting to be apart of the magic that is Plano Metropolitan Ballet, I can’t say enough nice things about this studio. What I loved most about this studio is that it’s inclusive to every kind of dancer. After graduating and going to college I got to be a part of a lot of studios, but nothing compares to Gotta Dance! Jun 04, 2025 · Bree HardenThis is a beautiful studio that hosts a warm welcoming environment while also offering quality dance education (for people of all ages!). Ms. Cindy is wonderful and an expert at what she does. I’m very happy I found this studio and am excited to take more classes here.
Jan 26, 2024 · Hayley ByrdAdult ballet basics. I have never taken any kind of dance class before. Despite that and being the only male in the class the instructor and even the other dancers still made me feel very welcome. No athlete can be complete without ballet. It is a lot of foot work and balance. Physically not very demanding for me, but very fun. Ballet is the an art expressed with the human body.
