My 5 year old started mid season this year and had her first dress rehearsal last Friday. Her brother’s normally-on-time-bus was 30 minutes late due to a flat tire that we weren’t notified about, making her/us 30 minutes late to recital. As we walked into the auditorium her class was walking onto the stage and she burst into tears (she hates to be late to anything). Rehearsal is SO, SO busy and I was doing my best to console my girl but I knew there wasn’t a way to fix it- we missed it and I was not going to ask for any exceptions and that was that. But one of the rehearsal helpers quickly pulled me aside and said “in a little bit we’re going to have her class go back out and do the dance again so she can do it”, and I about cried. They in no way, shape or form had to do that for my daughter- one child in an auditorium filled of dancers. That rehearsal goes from like 3:30-8:30 at night- it’s no joke- and offering to run her dance again without me even asking about it was the nicest kindness. We are new to the dance world- my girl had never been on a stage before (info Generations probably didn’t even know)- and this hiccup could have been one of those moments that made her not want to pursue dance anymore, but thanks to their unsolicited kindness, it wasn’t. My daughter went home happy, excited and proud that evening, and that’s something I will always be thankful for.So if you’re looking for a dance studio, here’s your sign to check out Generations! My daughter has loved her class, teachers and friends, and I’m incredibly thankful for their kind hearts. - Stacey Kuhlman

Generations Performing Arts Center Introduce

Welcome to Generations Performing Arts Center (Generations PAC), a truly special place right here in Westerville, Ohio, where the world of dance and performing arts comes alive. For families in the Columbus metropolitan area, particularly those in Westerville and surrounding communities, Generations PAC stands as a beacon of artistic excellence and compassionate instruction. Their mission is clear: to be "Where Every Student Counts." This isn't just a tagline; it's a philosophy deeply woven into the fabric of the studio, ensuring that each dancer, from toddlers taking their first steps to advanced performers, feels valued, supported, and inspired.

Generations PAC is renowned for its commitment to nurturing the child's spirit through the art of dance, providing an environment where students and their families consistently come first. The directors, Angie Haver and Cindy Straub, bring professional experience and educational backgrounds to ensure top-notch training in a caring environment. What truly sets Generations apart, as highlighted by glowing testimonials, is their extraordinary dedication to their students. Imagine a scenario where, due to an unforeseen delay, a young dancer misses her moment to walk onto the stage for her very first recital dress rehearsal. Instead of simply accepting the missed opportunity, the staff at Generations PAC went above and beyond, offering to run her class's dance again so she wouldn't miss out. This unsolicited act of kindness speaks volumes about their "kind hearts" and commitment to making every child's experience positive and confidence-building, even in the midst of a busy, large-scale event. It's this level of empathy, combined with excellent dance technique and a beautifully run, "well-oiled machine" for recitals, that defines the Generations PAC experience, fostering life-long relationships and a deep love for dance.

Generations Performing Arts Center enjoys a highly convenient and desirable location at 11 W College Ave, Westerville, OH 43081, USA. This address places the studio in the vibrant Uptown Westerville area, a fantastic spot chosen for its numerous benefits. At their first meeting with parents in 1999, the community expressed a desire for a dance facility that was spacious, convenient, safe, offered good parking, had a clean environment, and provided things to do nearby while children were in class, along with food options for those with long dance hours. Generations PAC has meticulously fulfilled all these requirements.

The building itself has a long tradition of hosting dance instruction, a legacy that Generations PAC is proud to continue. To further enhance accessibility and accommodate their growing programs, Generations PAC has also acquired additional space nearby in Uptown Westerville. This includes a studio above DanceWear Too and behind the Westerville Grill (acquired in 2011), and the former Autumn Wind Christian Fellowship Church at 33 E. Park St (acquired in 2015). The proximity to local amenities in Uptown Westerville is a significant highlight: parents can find numerous coffee shops (Espresso Air Coffee Terminal, Java Central), restaurants (Jimmy V's, Thai Grille, Westerville Grill, North Star, Rusty Bucket, Dairy Queen, Graeters, Whits, Old Bag of Nails, Koble`, Asterisk, Uptown Deli & Brew, everbowl, Highbanks, Fatty Beer Co., Schneider's Bakery), and charming local shops (Deja Vu, Pure Roots, A Gal Named Cinda Lou, Edwin Loy Home, My Cousin's Cottage, Amish Originals, Music & Arts, A Twist on Olives, Captivating Canines, Columbus Running Company, Westerville Florist, Westerville Bike Shop). Additionally, the Westerville Public Library and several great parks are within walking distance, making it incredibly convenient for families during wait times. The safety of the children is paramount, with an adult always designated to walk children between the main studio and annex studios as needed. This comprehensive approach to location and accessibility makes Generations PAC an incredibly practical and enjoyable choice for dance families in Central Ohio.
