Footprints Dance Studio Reviews
We absolutely love Footprints Dance Studio! My daughter has attended a camp, gone to a birthday party, and taken multiple classes here and every experience has been fantastic. The staff is kind, welcoming, and truly passionate about what they do. My daughter always looks forward to dance days and comes home beaming with excitement. It’s been such a positive and confidence-building experience for her. Highly recommend this studio to any family looking for a fun and supportive place for their child to learn and grow through dance!
Jun 27, 2025 · Kelsey BaichAfter over 5 years here… and my daughter being constantly praised for how good she was, how well she took corrections, how well she paid attention, etc… they completely snubbed her. Tried saying her technique isn’t good enough and that she doesn’t pay attention enough. Ironic considering they’ve always said the exact opposite…. Even a few weeks prior to this when we had a meeting. In fact Siobhan said the only two dancers in the studio up to her standards to do a solo were her own daughter and mine. Now suddenly she isn’t good? Ironically she was the only female soloist to get platinum at the last competition of the year which should have been enough to prove that she earned her spot. Absolutely betrayed little girl who has known them since she was two. Footprints was her second home and they tossed her aside like garbage. After all this happened we even had an outsider who knows the owner harass us and being sad about leaving the studio. We loved this studio more than anything. We dedicated years to them and were beyond loyal. My original review was PARAGRAPHS long raving about how much I loved them and how kind and loving they were. It’s clear this was personal towards me after I raised concerns the other moms on the team had as well and they chose to penalize a 7 year old over it. Heartbroken to say the least. We would have left it all alone and moved on had we not gotten harassed and mocked by someone because the owner was talking about us.
Jun 24, 2025 · Macy Ruhl-ColettiThis studio is truly one of a kind. The environment fostered inside the studio by such a caring staff, is second to none. Our daughters were lucky to find this place when we moved to Granger and as the current owner was just taking over the studio. My wife and I were able to see first hand how the studio grew in size and skill over several years, eventually leading to our oldest child being included on one of the first competition teams for the studio.Footprints puts their dancers first in learning true dance technique and the foundation of every dance style. It could be considered hyperbole for some to make such a statement, but in our case we know it to be 100% true. Life moved us from Indiana to Arizona a few years back and our studio here has only praised our girls for the foundation they had in dance when they arrived and audition to be on a company team in Scottsdale. This allowed them to grow further and not have to reteach the basics, something we can never thank Footprints enough for.We miss Footprints - Tifanie, Autum, Shauna, Brielle, Reegen, Brandi, Andi, Lacie, Rachel - every day and still follow their growth and success each dance year. The world of dance is a unique one, full of judgments, critiques and constant competition with others and inside yourself to get better, but one that if you intrust the team at Footprints with for your child, you and your child will walk away feeling rewarded.
Jun 29, 2025 · David McNaceEmberly began dancing at age 2, and we stayed loyal to Footprints ever since—even as other studios tried to recruit her. Though many urged us to move on due to Footprints’ focus on younger dancers, it was home to us. Emberly had known the owner her whole life and trusted the staff deeply. She was dedicated and hardworking, consistently praised for her focus, talent, and ability to take correction. She’s taken 38 classes (not counting summer sessions), performed solos since age 5, and in classes like tap, was often given advanced material. Despite this, her age kept her in lower-level classes with beginners, which hindered her growth—but she persisted.Last season was her first year on the competition team. She was placed on two teams and given a solo, which she worked hard on. After a disappointing first competition, she made changes and ended the season strong—earning the only platinum solo score for a female dancer on her team. Still, we felt her results didn’t reflect her effort, especially given the time and money we were putting in—over $5,000 annually. In February, tension started when a new employee—whose mother is a friend of my husband’s ex-wife (who has spoken badly about me for years)—was hired. I initially expressed minor concern to the manager but was soon accused by the employee’s mother of badmouthing her, which was false. I addressed it directly with the owner, who reassured me. But after that, more strange issues arose involving that family, and the drama began affecting us outside the studio.Meanwhile, concerns grew around competition team fairness. Kids who didn’t try out made the team, while others who did were cut. As team mom, I shared these concerns in a respectful letter. The owner responded positively and emphasized how much they loved Emberly and how well she was doing—feedback that had always been consistent from staff.Despite that, I felt uneasy heading into tryouts. Emberly remained focused, even noting that others were goofing off—but those with close ties to the staff made the team. She was again placed on the lowest team (Pearls), even though she’d addressed the skill gap that kept her there the year before. Then came the hardest blow—no solo or duet. Their reasoning: “her technique needs work.”This contradicted everything we’d been told for years. If there were concerns, why weren’t they addressed before? Why was she previously praised, then suddenly criticized? It became clear: this wasn’t about her talent—it was about politics, cliques, and adults making it personal. Instead of being honest, they shifted blame onto a child. We walked away.We had already been in talks with other studios, knowing Emberly hadn’t been challenged for a while. But that night confirmed everything. The employee’s mother reacted mockingly to a vague Instagram story I posted—information she could only have known through staff. Once again, we were the subject of gossip. A studio that preaches kindness and God was now participating in lies, judgment, and betrayal. They even misled some parents, claiming judges were brought in for tryouts—when in truth, no outside judges were present. There’s more I could share, but the bottom line is this: adults failed a child. They lied, mocked, and used her to hurt me. We truly believed Emberly was loved and valued at this studio. It’s clear now that wasn’t the case.I hadn’t planned to say anything publicly. But if they’re going to talk behind our backs, and have employee’s parents messaging me speaking ill about a child, I’m going to speak the truth.
Jun 30, 2025 · Emberly RuhlAmazing place that encourages growth not only in skill and technique, but in Christ as well! Footprints emphasizes community, faith, and modesty. Grateful for them.
