Dfw Salsa Reviews
I had such a great time at this salsa class! The class was well-paced, fun, and full of great energy. Highly recommend for anyone looking to learn salsa in a welcoming and upbeat environment!
May 13, 2025 · Giulia QuingalahuaI took my very first class yesterday and it was awesome! Jay was very patient and did not give up on me! I appreciate a teacher who meets a student where they are and helps them and motivates them to keep dancing. By the end of the class, I saw the improvement! I will be back soon!!
May 14, 2025 · Porsha MorrissetteSo much fun! My wife and I really enjoyed our salsa class with Jay. We are just starting to learn salsa but Jay made it seem easy and did it with humor. By the end of night we felt like we could go to a club and hold our own. Highly recommend!
Feb 25, 2025 · Rich ValensteinLast night I went to my first wed night class with Jay! I was so nervous. I’ve only danced bachata at the club (back in the day) or now around the house while cleaning. And I’ve only been 2 hip-hop classes but the instruction was too fast and I felt very over whelmed. It’s been years since I’ve done anything outside YouTube Zumba or workout dance videos. So believe when I say not only is Jay the instructor I’ve been looking for but probably what I need. First of all he’s hilarious. He was giving us a dance example and said “muggles” in the first 15 minutes of class so I was like- YEP I’m coming back to class. Anyone who says “muggles” is ok in my book ….but in all seriousness I learned so much- music technicality, your dancing bubble, how to relax my arms when dancing with a partner (lol I struggle at trusting dance partners-Im working on it), body balance, how to really listen and move with the music, how to add SABOR (flavor) to your moves and ultimately how to have fun.I signed up for 5 more classes that night. I dont want to just learn bachata, its roots and steps but connect with my body and the music-while also learning how to but my own flavor on it. I think Jays perfect for that and he’s teaches to all levels within a class which is DOPE (advanced dancers Im coming for you! Just give me a bit. lol). As an educator myself, I know (from a classroom space) what makes a good and intentional teacher is someone can teach to all levels and make everyone (body size, ethnicity, dance skill level, etc) feel welcomed, learn and relax to enjoy what is dance. So stop reading this and check it out!
May 08, 2025 · Ashley DurdenGenuinely the best arts teacher I’ve ever had! Yes, I am learning the steps on a fundamental level but Jay teaches you how to enjoy and feel the dance itself! I cannot recommend his class enough to a novice or whatever level you’re at.
