Dance And Theater Arts Reviews
I've been taking ballet with Mary for about 2 1/2 years as well as Floor Barre. Having a safe and fun place to learn ballet as a total beginner at the age of 65 is such a gift! This was way out of my comfort zone, but I feel so comfortable with the teachers as well as the other students. We learn a lot and have such a good time. Mary, the owner and teacher, is patient and affirming yet challenges us. She offers a wide variety of classes and levels so there's a place for all! I highly recommend this studio!!
Apr 26, 2024 · Lisle PepeComing back to ballet with Mary is about the best thing I’ve done. She’s a fun, consistent, talented encouraging teacher, the new studio is a great place, the other students are a dream. All this thanks to Avery.
Dec 30, 2024 · Joan Juliet BuckMary's presence in Red Hook has really saved my life! She started teaching here in the middle of Covid and cast the doldrums away for those of us who wanted to get out and dance! This new studio, which opened its doors a year ago, features plenty of light, space, and sprung floors that go easy on aging knees. The offerings range widely from tap, ballet, modern, Mexican folkloric, Bollywood, and musical theater/jazz dance to acting and cabaret performance and more! All for adult dancers at all levels and all in a welcoming and supportive environment. I can't recommend enough!
May 31, 2024 · Virginia PerrinI never had a dance class as a child. Tap dancing was always on my bucket list. I've been taking a tap class off and on for 6 years. Covid squashed my classes with a previous teacher and I thought my tapping days were over. But I heard about Dance and Theatre Arts and found a class where I fit well with my skill level! I've been going there for about 2 years. Mary teaches the class. She is very patient and has a skilled eye to help if we're struggling and finds a way to "clear the mud." The studio is a comfortable space for new or returning-to-dance adults. I love it there and look forward to expanding my horizons to other classes. (61 years young, lol)
Apr 26, 2024 · Jillian LuyI was so happy to find a dance school for adults in Dutchess County after moving from the city. I’ve been taking the musical theater dance class for several months now and love it. Mary is a wonderful, encouraging teacher with great professional experience to share.
