Charm City Ballet Reviews
As a professional freelance dancer, I can't recommend Charm City Ballet enough. I participated in their production of "A Christmas Carol" and it was a wonderful, fun experience. Having been burned out on the high-pressure atmosphere so prevalent in the dance world, it was a breath of fresh air to be in a healthy environment again. Becca and Pete are respectful and kind, easy to work with as directors and clear about their expectations. The classes and productions offered are high quality and memorable. I am so glad to know that CCB is there for dancers of any age to practice, hone, and perform in their art form in a healthy atmosphere, and I look forward to watching it continue to grow in the future.
Aug 05, 2020 · Ashley TaylorCharm City Ballet has been an incredible way for me to stay active with a ballet studio while home from college breaks. Since 2015, I have learned an incredible amount and seen improvements within myself that would not have been possible without the help and guidance of Becca and Pete. Not only did their rehearsal schedule allow me to keep up with other commitments (school and dance wise) in high school, they also provided me with an outlet to perform in a full-length ballet, which is something I had always been looking for, but could not fit into my schedule with the requirements of my competition-based studio. I am so grateful that I have been able to remain a part of CCB throughout my college career through Zoom classes, drop-ins over various breaks from school, and through social media. I truly feel as though I never had to leave, despite not being physically present for months at time. CCB gave me incredibly valuable performance experiences that helped shape me as a dancer and person. Among all of these attributes, CCB provides a warm and nurturing educational space, regardless of ones age or depth of prior experience. They are extremely organized, easy to contact, and always willing to help or answer questions. I truly feel as though I have grown up from 2015 to now with CCB, and it has been an honor to see their studio grow from where it started.
Aug 05, 2020 · Sarah SchwartzI can not recommend Charm City Ballet enough. Bright, clean, and large studio and lobby. Teachers who provide engaging and technically sound instruction. Fellow students who are supportive and kind. They do an excellent job of developing both the discipline and respect that dance requires as well as the joy and passion that dance should provide. You won’t be disappointed!
Aug 13, 2020 · Annie WagnerOnce I left college, I mourned the loss of my performance days. In my first couple of years of graduate school, I took adult ballet classes but something was missing and CCB had the answer! I had finally found a ballet company that casts non-professional level adult dancers and ever since, CCB has been my rock. Being on the stage alongside some of the most beautiful and articulate dancers I have ever met as well as being a part of the CCB family has lifted me emotionally, mentally, and physically. Pete would always have us soak in the stage, lights, and audience before each performance, which has become a moment I can (and do) vividly relive. I am also grateful for how invested the teachers are in classes, even for those of us who are less-skilled dancers. In class I receive corrections which actually improve my skills, even as an adult dancer. One of my greatest joys at CCB was earning my first solo role ever as Carlotta in The Little Mermaid, an opportunity that I will always cherish. 'Thank you' will never be enough to express my gratitude to Becca and Pete for creating such a wonderful place in CCB.
