Butler Gymnastics Club offers a range of specialized programs that function as an excellent "preschool" experience, focusing on movement, development, and social skills for young children. These classes are designed to be engaging, safe, and highly beneficial for early learners.
Movement for Life “MFL” (14 Months - 3.5 Years Old): This 40-minute parent-child class is specifically geared towards toddlers and young preschoolers. It focuses on developing fine, gross, and perceptual motor skills, helping children become familiar with gym equipment without fear. The class incorporates a circle warm-up, two 15-minute circuits on various equipment (floor, beams, trampoline, bar area), and ends with a parachute activity and stickers, making it a fun and interactive learning experience.
Bouncin' Bunnies (Co-Ed 3.5-4.5 Years Old): This 50-minute class serves as an introduction to the gym without parents, fostering independence. As a core preschool program, it emphasizes movement-based learning through games and circuit training. Children start in a warm-up room before moving to the main gym for floor circuits and trampoline time, then heading upstairs to a preschool-sized bar and beam room. Key skills introduced include animal walks, gymnastic shapes (straight, straddle, pike, squat, tuck), and basic rolls.
Gym Tiger (Co-ed 5 & 6 Years Old): This 60-minute class is the next step up, allowing children to spend a majority of their time in the recreational gym, building confidence on full-size equipment. Skills covered include more advanced gymnastic shapes, locomotion skills (hop, skip, leap, jump), and rolls (forward and backward).
Structured Movement-Based Learning: All preschool programs are designed with a strong emphasis on movement, incorporating games and circuit learning to keep children active and engaged throughout the class. This approach is crucial for early physical development and channeling children's natural energy.
Skill Development Beyond Gymnastics: While focusing on gymnastic shapes and movements, these programs inherently reinforce preschool readiness skills such as following instructions, taking turns, socializing with peers, and developing coordination and self-esteem.
Safe and Supportive Environment: The programs are set within a safe and fun environment, allowing children to channel their physical energy while learning to socialize. The staff ensures that individual needs are met, especially if children are "struggling in certain areas."

May 05, 2018 · Virginia SchuetzWe had such a poor experience with this place and I feel that the girls are a number and their general being does not matter. I had a coach that would make remarks to my daughter, she even swore at her!! Heasley did nothing. They did raise their fees, and our coach is a volunteer. When the girls qualified to go to states the coach told them she wasn't taking them because she did not feel in fact they were good enough. They have broken down equipment like vacuum cleaners and such. I am not sure where all their money goes but it is definitely clicky and if you dont fit in they find ways too push you out the door. A competitive sport yes, but to have 10 year old girls crying on a regular basis, no thank you. And the owner did nothing but smile with my complaints. No letter, no apology or attempt to make it right.
