Belly Dance Eugene Reviews
Sarina is a very generous and patient teacher who really knows her stuff. I took a class with her for a few weeks when I was trying to learn enough to put on a comedy skit for a local Theater group Eugene and she was awesome. She is hard working, gives great positive feed back and has the patience to put up with a room full of large men trying to learn how to Belly Dance. As a result, I have a lot more respect for the art form than I did before I took her class, and I have always had a ton of respect for her.If you have any interest in learning this kind of dance, I couldn't think of anyone I would recommend going to other than Sarina at Belly Dance Eugene. She is awesome!
Jan 03, 2016 · Paul WillmanI started with Sarina's class on a whim after coming back from a vacation in Hawaii. (What a place to discover that your belly could use some toning!) After the first session, I knew this was going to be a FUN way to do some core work. Session upon session, week upon week, Sarina challenged each of us with dance techniques. She educated us with belly dance and tribal fusion history and distinctive differences. She delighted us with music I never expected to hear at a middle-eastern-themed dance class. And she got us out of our comfort zone to perform in front of friends. She is so knowledgeable, and is able to convert that knowledge into learnable, achievable segments. It has been an experience I'm glad I said yes to!
Feb 15, 2015 · Susan CummingSarina has an encyclopedic knowledge of belly dancing that is hard to describe with words, including male belly dance routines. She can describe and demonstrate multiple styles and integrate them with deceptive ease while remaining patient with lumbering Vikings like myself. I gained even greater respect for her mastery of dance movement when I took a few basic lessons from her. It is sooooo much harder than it looks. Even the most "simple" movements required a great deal of practice to reach a level of replication that did not feel stilted and I have done some yoga and mobility training in the past. I learned some things about my body and my ability to express my inner movement that I doubt I could have learned anywhere else. If you are thinking about learning some belly dance moves, I cannot recommend her tutelage enough. You will leave each class feeling like it was well worth your time.
Jan 04, 2016 · JesseI've been taking classes with Sarina for almost 2 years now. She is knowledgeable, patient and supportive. It has been, and continues to be, a very rewarding and creative experience. I plan to keep taking classes for another 2 years...and then some!
