Ballet Folklorico Mi Alegria Reviews
I have been engaged in Folklorico dance since I was a young girl growing up in Baldwin Park. Experiences have varied, whether as a dancer or as a parent. My experience here has been nothing less than exemplary. The directors (Liz and David) are lovely people with two children of their own dancing.Liz is quite organized and focused, with an obvious passion for dance and for teaching. Her program is beautifully structured, with enough mix of fun and discipline to keep everyone engaged and enjoying their experience. She's very friendly and polite, and always willing to help the students and parents.David ensures that all the background logistics are well in hand - the studio, paperwork, and general oversight like maintenance, custodial services, bookings, etc. He's also great with kids - witness his own - and seems to really enjoy engaging with all of the students. The studio itself is fantastic, and while not neat as a pin (it IS a dance studio) it's always a very clean and welcoming environment.Overall, I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Ballet Folklorico Mi Alegria and would highly recommend it to anyone who has interest in dancing or encouraging their children/grandchildren to dance.

From the moment we joined, we’ve been impressed by their professionalism and dedication to both the art of dance and the development of our children. The teachers and directors create a positive and welcoming environment that not only focuses on teaching folklórico but also instills valuable life lessons. Our children have grown so much, learning discipline, teamwork, and respect. Most importantly, they’ve gained confidence in themselves, both as dancers and individuals.BFMA provides a structured environment with clear rules and expectations, ensuring that both parents and children understand the importance of commitment and hard work. It’s clear that their goal is not just to teach dance but to nurture well-rounded, confident, and disciplined young people. We couldn’t be happier to be a part of this incredible community! Mar 30, 2025 · Servando CeballosMy sister loves to dance. This studio has given so many wonderful recitals and exhibitions. Liz has taught her so many new things that are on our dad's side of the family. Liz and David are bringing my sisters new found love of the Mexican culture to life for her. The choreography is beautifully executed and the costumes are so authentic. What a joy it is to watch them dance and spread their happiness with the audience. You really should try this studio if you are looking for a great place to experience a new and wonderful adventure through dance. They are wonderful people to work with, too.
Mar 23, 2025 · Sammy Roy RuvalcabaI have years of experience with various studios, directors, and dance groups. I personally have never been so grateful for the experiences I’ve had so far with BFMA. I have a younger sister who is a dancer at the studio and she has never been more excited to be at any group like she is to be in this one. The staff and directors made my sister and I feel welcomed immediately and always provide support to all of their dancers by providing free snacks, water, and borrowing skirts and shoes. They are extremely understanding when any circumstances occur as long as you communicate with them clearly and in advanced. The environment at the studio is very fun loving and educational I appreciate the types of opportunities they are giving my sister as well as the other dancers in the studio. The director Liz is one of the sweetest people I’ve met she truly cares for the wellbeing of her dancers and wants to provide the best experiences for them. This is definitely an environment I see my sister growing into and creating great memories in.
Apr 22, 2025 · Isabella PulidoI've had the pleasure of being part of BFMA, and I can honestly say it’s an amazing group that is passionate about dance, culture, and its students. Like any serious dance program, they have high expectations, but it’s never about favoritism—it’s about hard work, dedication, and a love for folklórico.I’ve seen firsthand how much effort the instructors put into helping every dancer grow. Progress takes time, but those who are committed and willing to put in the work see real results. I’ve noticed some recent reviews suggesting this group only cares about money, but that hasn’t been my experience at all. Running a dance program takes resources, and every fee goes directly into providing high-quality instruction, costumes, and performance opportunities for the dancers. What really makes this group special is the sense of family. The dancers encourage and uplift each other, and the environment is one of learning and support. A huge part of that is thanks to their Director, Liz. She is truly dedicated to her students—not just as dancers, but as people. She is kind, patient, and always pushing her students to reach their full potential. You can tell she genuinely cares about every dancer who walks through the door.If you’re looking for a folklórico group that values tradition, discipline, and community, BFMA is the perfect place.
