As a former dancer and teacher her at this place I all I can say is great things! The owners are super sweet and caring. They are always making sure all the kids are looking good (she will alter the dresses so they can fit the dancers appropriately) such a great place to dance! All the people leaving bad reviews is usually because they want to take control over which dances they want to dance. Parents are great and dedicated!! Highly recommend ☺️☺️went to competition, took 5 numbers and won 4 out of 5!☺️ - Uriel Martinez

Ballet Folklorico, or "Baile Folklórico," is a collective term for traditional cultural dances that emphasize local folk culture with characteristics often influenced by ballet, such as pointed toes, exaggerated movements, and highly choreographed routines. It is a living art form that reflects the traditions, cultures, and beliefs of people from specific regions of Mexico, expressing their life and spirit through movement and music. The history of folklorico dance is deeply intertwined with Mexico's rich past, blending indigenous roots with European influences, particularly from Spanish and even Moorish traditions, as seen in the zapateado (foot stomping) and the elaborate costumes. Each region of Mexico has its unique dances and corresponding attire, from the denim and western shirts of Nuevo Leon to the elaborate embroidered dresses of Oaxaca or the flamenco-influenced movements of Veracruz. Ballet Folklorico De Dos Tierras aims to bring this authentic and diverse cultural tapestry to its students, fostering not only technical dance skills but also a deep appreciation and understanding of Mexican heritage. Through rigorous training and a focus on presentation, the studio strives to ensure that the beauty and meaning of these dances are accurately and passionately conveyed.
