Arthur Murray Dance Studio Bellevue Reviews
We can’t recommend this place enough! We had the most amazing experience taking dance lessons here prior to our wedding last year for our first dance. Ashton was an incredible teacher, she made the entire process so fun - and one of the best experiences we had leading up to our wedding! Taking dance classes wasn’t something we were planning on doing or gave much thought to, but we had SO much more fun than we ever could have imagined. It gave us the opportunity to let go of everything else going on and just spend time together. Arthur Murray & Ashton are the best!!
Dec 31, 2023 · Brooklyn VandiverThey're awesome. Great teachers. They've done a great job creating a fun community with group lessons and dance parties. Not cheap. And you'll have to deal with consistent sales pitches. But it's worth it.
May 29, 2025 · Ryan AlvisI can't possibly say enough about how incredible our experience was with Ashton. My husband and I took 5 lessons before our wedding to practice our first dance, and everything about the experience (and the final result) was beyond perfect. My husband is over a foot taller than I am, so that's already an issue, and we are NOT natural dancers. But Ashton worked her magic on us and made us feel SO comfortable, during the lessons and during the actual dance! She was so sweet, encouraging, fun, and just an absolute joy to work with. We are beyond happy with how everything turned out, and we have only her to thank. If you are considering taking lessons for your first dance, I would HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend this place and ask for Ashton!!!
Oct 28, 2021 · Jade HerschIt took almost 1.5 years for me to give my honest review after left AM bellevue as i didnt wanted to be biased without trying a new place.I stayed in AM for almost 2 year's after I stepped in there with great excitement. I had no idea what I was walking in to until Emily, the main teacher had a meeting with me. My motivation to walk in there was to learn Lindy Hop and she welcomed my interest. She is a great person to sell her business and dance packages. I must say she have skills to keep you engaged and make sure you don't walk out of there without buying their package offers. My personal experience below is purely based on my stay there and after I left, I joined an amazing authentic dance studio and i compared the dance skill level and technique._ The beginning of my AM journey was really good, every one was welcoming, smiling, helpful and always ready to be there for you especially Emily. She personally started taking my Lindy Hop private lessons( that are extremely pricey). Remember that this is my first ever in any dance studio and I totally had my trust in them._ With in few months, my lessons were transfered to another teacher without notice and then everytime I walk in there is another teacher waiting for me and with in months, I saw many instructors left the job and the people they hired for front desk were teaching those private lessons that were quite pricey without having any professional skill or teaching experience and without being qualified from an authentic dance school. I was also taking group lessons there as well that were equally pricey for the technique they were teaching me there._ With time, my passion for Lindy Hop was kinda fade away because there was not enough interest to teach much of that but other dance routines were being taught. I also noticed repeatedly that in group lesson's, teachers were strictly observed from distance and they were strongly instructed to NOT teach any kind of advance step other then what was in the files or syllabus. If any teacher wants to teach a little step out of enthusiasm and just for the sake of teaching the students to keep their Interest, the front desk girl would literally stop the lesson and instruct the teacher to stick to the routine and not teach any advance steps. That was quite eery and seems petty for the amount I was paying there to learn an actual skill._ I did joined few met galas and quarterly dance performances that were heavily paid by me and I also noticed that I was being pushed and pushed aggressively by Emily and then other employees working there to register for the out of city trips that cost thousands of dollars. Once I decide not to buy those trips cause I was not convinced if I was learning enough in the studio, I saw a sudden change of behavior from Emily and she kind of completely ignored me like I even exist there. It seems like , the people who just pay loads of amount there were entertained and served properly, others were completely ignored. It was quite disappointing to watch that._ AM is for the people who wants to socialize and wanna experience social dancing. I am 100% convinced it is not for the people who actually want to learn technique, posture and skill on a higher level by professional trainers. Keep in mind, there are hardly any state competition winners or participants teaching there. Very few teachers like Uanique, Gretchen and ashton were better dancers._ After I joined an authentic dance studio where teachers are interstate and state champions and they take teaching seriously as well as the dance techniques and giving full attention to the student until they make sure they are ready. Dance is not a joke for them._ Way too many students left AM with in months._ I must say, if you are only looking for social dancing and make feel good time, AM is a good place to go. If you want to take dance seriously, it is not the place to waste the money, also the amount of pressure and reminders for buying new packages there killed the purpose of running dance studio.
Jun 06, 2024 · QURRATULAIN AnnyTHE PLACE TO LEARN TO BALLROOM DANCE!I’ve always been a fan of Arthur Murray Dance Centers, but the Bellevue location is filled with a superstar staff. The environment is fun, the teachers excited to teach you and the experience is second to none. Combine that with themed parties and a community that welcomes everyone and you get a dance studio that is sure to teach even the clumsiest of dancers.I’ll be coming back here every time I’m in town. Even if it’s just to soak. Up some good juju before heading off to another destination.
