Amherst Ballet Reviews
When we moved to the area, we struggled to find a good fit for my very driven young dancer, who has been dancing at pre-professional schools out west and abroad since a very young age. Amherst Ballet was the only school within a reasonable distance that was willing to place her by level, rather than age, and provide the rigorous level of training and engagement that keeps my student inspired! All of the teachers are great and the director, Mikayla, brings a breadth of professional experience - she is so committed to helping every dancer achieve their goals. The organization is also in the process of deepening their commitment to inclusivity through anti-racist and decolonizing education initiatives. I also love that it is a historic organization in the community that offers unique classical and contemporary performance opportunities. Amherst Ballet is truly a second home to my dancer and I highly recommend it!
May 20, 2024 · Amanda Huttenga-RomeroAmherst ballet is a wonderful studio with high quality instructors. It provides a very supportive environment for young dancers while not compromising on good technique. The staff are very flexible in allowing you to take trial lessons, and if you don’t want to commit for the whole year they allow you to try a semester at a time—- we have been really happy with our experience so far, and the new director Mikayla is a lovely dancer and warm, encouraging teacher! The building may be a bit worn but the studios are spacious and airy, and the place has soul. Strongly recommend!
