American Dance Training Camps Reviews
My daughter attended ADTC in 2024 in Wisconsin. She is neurodivergent. She functions well in social situations, but sometimes needs prompting for showers due to sensory issues. I asked the ADTC staff to make sure that she showered throughout the week. While returning from an outing, on the bus, one of the instructors decided to prompt my daughter to take a shower by announcing it to the entire bus. This lead to embarrassment as well a ridicule from her fellow campers for the remainder of the week. Before this camp my daughter loved dance more than anything. I thought dance camp would help her self-esteem, but instead it destroyed her spirit. I gave a two instead of a one because the dance camp did seem to be well organized.
Mar 27, 2025 · Jamie SchrauthADTC was the best place for my daughters first sleep away camp experience (for both of us). Although slightly nervous upon arrival, she was quickly welcomed and was off and running. The positive energy and excitement was contagious. The staff were super sweet and helpful and put me at ease knowing my daughter was in good hands. I was very impressed with the Friday show and was filled with joy to see my daughter having so much fun with new friends. She is already talking about going back next summer for 2 weeks!
Feb 20, 2020 · Tammy CampbellMy daughter has attended ADTC for 3 straight years (Illinois and Wisconsin). The amount of social growth this camping experience has provided her is immeasurable. The dancing is always great. I am always so impressed with the Friday Performance! It is amazing what can be done in such a short amount of time. My daughter has gained confidence and lasting friendships. The instruction and choreography is top-notch. Three adjectives I’d use to describe ADTC are social, exciting, and challenging.
Jan 27, 2020 · Mairin GradekGreat experience that focused on building character and self-confidence, rather than just dancing. Three adjectives I'd use to describe ADTC are fun, new experiences, and friendship. This was my daughter's first experience at a sleep away camp. She has high levels of anxiety, especially when away from me. She struggled being away the first night and morning and the director noticed and took extra time with her to help her feel more comfortable. Within an hour of chatting and listening to music with the director, she was feeling so much better and ready to dance. She just needed that connection and the staff was more than happy to help her tackle the anxiety. It was an amazing growing experience for her! We cannot wait for camp this summer!
Feb 10, 2020 · Jessica ZieglerWe were pleased with the ADTC experience. Our daughter (10) attended ADTC as her first "sleep away camp", which, of course, can be scary. While she was slightly homesick, I think the friendliness of the staff and the focus of the dance routines alleviated the homesickness. And she gave the best (and simplest) testimonial: 'Mom, I want to do it again next year'.
