Aerial Dragonfly Movement Studio Reviews
If you think you can’t get into aerial arts because you’re not flexible, you’re not terribly strong, you have no dance or gymnastics training, or (my favorite) you’re too old…read on.I am 50 years old, overweight, and about as flexible as a broomstick. I have had ZERO dance or gymnastics training in my life. I’ve never done the splits or even a pullup. My upper body strength is lacking. And sometimes I lack confidence in myself. In just a mere 3 months of Lyra classes, Aerial Dragonfly had me performing a wide variety of moves, poses, and flows in the Lyra, and they helped me develop so much conviction in my abilities, my body type, and my age. I became stronger and much more confident, and with the encouragement of my instructors and new friends, I participated in their spring Student Showcase. I was literally performing in front of a large, supportive crowd after THREE MONTHS of learning and practicing at the Aerial Dragonfly. It was amazing!I’ve *never* been in a community that was so instantly supportive, fun, encouraging, and gentle. I’ve spent time with 4-5 instructors and learned something new every time. I’ve made so many friends and I look forward to seeing them every week. We really support each other and enjoy each other…from all walks of life. You have nothing to lose. You can sign up for one class at a time. You’ll be amazed at what you can accomplish, and the incredible community you can become part of. Your age, your experience, your body type–none of these things will hold you back if you just give them a try. You CAN fly!
May 29, 2025 · Becky BrunnerI've gone to a few lyra/trapeze workshops coached by Dari and have had a fantastic time! She always makes sure to do warm ups that are linked to the skills that we will be practicing that day and goes at a slow pace for newcomers. Each workshop has been friendly for all skill levels and Dari makes sure to check in with everyone to see where they might need more support. I highly recommend taking a class with her!
Mar 17, 2025 · Tiniyja BurneyI have been attending Aerial Dragonfly classes for about 3-4 months now and have nothing but wonderful things to say about this place. In a time where there is so much stress, anxiety, and uncertainty in my world, I really needed a healthy distraction (a regular form of self-care if you will) to cope with it all. I regularly attend the beginner silks and lyra classes and have learned so much in just a few months. The teachers have all been amazing to work with. You can tell they really care about your health and are able to differentiate instruction in a way that allows you you to work within the capabilities of your own body. They are also incredibly kind and encouraging, making everyone feel welcome. The owners and staff of this studio have really created an environment that fosters growth and friendship through learning this art form, and I am grateful for the community I have found there. If you are interested in trying an apparatus, sign up for one of the beginner classes, and I promise you won't be disappointed. It will be a fun experience that will allow you to explore your curiosity in a safe environment, and if you are like me, you will most likely be hooked at that point and want to return. Also, if you see a "teaser" workshop offered, I highly recommend going to this so that you can tryout a few of the apparatuses. I started with lyra (which I really enjoy), but then attended the the teaser and really fell in love with the silks, and now I do both. If you are the slightest bit curious about aerial arts, please come give it a try at Aerial Dragonfly - you won't be disappointed!
May 18, 2025 · Joshua KimballI attempted to give my feedback via email, however did not receive a response after three days, despite the prompt emails I was receiving during my booking process.Recently, my entire group was concerned that each person did not have their own personal hoop during the class, as that was a priority for me while I was searching places, and it was confirmed by you all that you could accommodate individual hoops if the private party was booked. I further went to confirm via email the day before our private class that 6 hoops would be needed. We felt we were left standing and waiting for partners to be done, opposed to a full time class experience. I specifically picked this business opposed to others when I was told this space could accommodate 10 individual hoops. However this was not honored during our class time. And, in addition, being told by the instructor today that you all did not have enough ceiling rings, however there were 6 rings hoops, and only 3 pulled down for class use.
Apr 07, 2025 · LuJuana Allen-LightfootDragonfly is so awesome! I've been going for about 2.5 months now and I always have so much fun when I attend aerial silk classes, plus I get a heck of a work out! Everyone there is super super nice, helpful, and friendly! The aerial silk classes are great and I totally recommend it :D
